Beat everton 1-0 this morning result was better than the performance.Under 16s won 3-0 I think-I watched the first half and they were two up;quite an impressive age group at the academy.

Outstanding second goal by the way for the under 16s by JH.Spotted his centre half in possession made a run in into space arounf the edge of the penalty area controlle dthe ball with one touch and volleyed into the net with his second.

DId that game only end up 3-0? Went to platt lane this morning on my way to work and decided to watch the under 16's for the first half before i had to get off. As you say stockportblue they are an impressive bunch of players that play some really good football that is pleasing on the eye. That second goal was a peach, great pass from the centre half and a lovely first touch and finish, he impressed me that lad, he's got great skill. Also the lad in midfield who scored the first goal was excellent, lovely first touch and awareness, the left back aswell looks a talent who bombs up the line......infact they all look good, should be some to watch for the academy side next year. Just a shame that i won't be able to see another academy game til the new year due to work commitments, suprised it ended up only 3-0 though, thought it would of been a romp! Good to see the U18 keep up their good run aswell.

Agree with you about the left back-who was taken off at half time!!-He looks very comfortable on the ball and good in the air.The under 16s brought an an England youth international to replace him and moved EP to left back.

JH sometimes looks a bit untidy at times with his back to goal like his striking partner; but they both have attributes worth working on.I look forward to seeing them develop in the next couple of years.

You certainly chose the right game to watch I probably should have watched the full second half of the under 16s game-which did finish 3-0.

I watched the whole of the 18's game.I guess you are right that the result was better than the performance but to be fair I think Everton are a big ,strong side and I understand we have really struggled aginst them in the recent past so it was an excellent result.

First half we were probably 2nd best but our keeper wasnt tested that often and we did have a great shout for a pen near the end when Bunn broke through.2nd half we had more of the game although Everton did threaten a few times. I was suprised when both Roman and Henshall were taken off with 10 or 15 to go but it proved the right decision when a Bunn cross found substitute George King at the far post and he showed good composure to find Albert Rusnak for a tap in.

Seems like I need to watch some of the 16's if I get the chance though.

Albert Rusnak again!? He only seems to appear when you're there! Are you sure you haven't imagined him? I'm going to make sure I watch the video of this when it comes out on the OS, so I can finally get a glimpse of the elusive Albert.

Some good moments from Albert today. He has a good touch and can see a pass. My reservation would be that he doesnt influence the game enough but it isn't an easy position in the middle of the park. He seemed to get better when the 2 other talents went off as he got a more advanced role and it was great to see him arrive in the box for the goal.
And he has definitely grown!

I think Juan Roman may have been taken off as he was just returning from injury. As I mentioned earlier I didnt see all of the under 18s game but what I saw I didnt think Alex Henshall played that well.I was impressed with him first game of the season but in the games I have seen him play since he hasnt played as well since.

I would definitely recommend a look at the under 16 side ;whom I know the academy staff are very happy with as a group.

I think the lad who scored the first goal has blue blood-his Dad or Uncle played for the club and signed for City on the same day as Nicky Reid.
