Andreas Isaksson, every minute he was on the pitch he was shaking like a sh*tt*n' dog as peter kay would say. I don't know if the price tag or prem overawed him but he never got close to a decent performance.

Totall agree, 'Issy' was fucking dog shit and I was very relieved to see him leave our club.

I always got the impression he was fine close in, one on one, but had some sort of long-sight problem. Didn't see the ball coming from outside the box. Needed specs!

Changed my mind. Nick Weaver. Absolutely terrible.

Ok he played a blinder in teh play-off final, but every dog has its day and all that.

He practially took us down one season, his kicking, positioning, wampyre-esque attitude to crosses, and before anyone says he was a good shot-stopper, goals seemed to go straight through him at times. And he was always out gettgin blathered and mouthing off to fans.

Nonsense. He was absolutely amazing for two seasons ('98-'00) as we came back up through the divisions. Shit after that - constantly injured and liked a pint (and dare I say pie) a bit too much. But far from the worst. Immel, Burridge and Margetson were pure unadulterated gash. Also can't understand people defending Dibble. Tony Scrotum, on the other hand, was amazing before he became the archmune.

Yeah, he was so 'amazing' whilst we were complete crap, he couldn't wait to get back to his level and contributed hugely to us being relegated. I've only been watching City about twenty years, and he was consistently turd for an entire relegation season. Me and a few mates made a point of scrutinising him, and if we'd been only slightly angrier (and had some dogs) we would probably have hunted him down with dogs.

I think he far outweigh contributions of crapness from the likes of Burridge, Immel, and Margetson, who hardly played for us. I mean Nigel Gleghorn had his faults as a keeper, but I'm not gonna slag him off either.

In summary, started brightly, ended in pot-bellied disgrace.

Agree with the last one on Weavs - just got a bit too big for his boots. How many goals in that relegation season were down to some cock up by him? Lots. There were at least 2 where his Fillol-style dribbling cost goals and lots of occasions where long shots went right through him (eg at Villa). Still, he was a character. I seem to remember the press bigged-up Ike Immel a lot at the time. He certainly got lots of shot-saving practice! I remember up at the Toon where he got absolutely peppered. Working out who was the worst is tough since you need to balance actual ability with susceptibility to clangers. Dibble was good in some ways but boy could he balls-it up. Weaver probably descended to similar level. For sheer lack of ability at the time it has to go down to the wire between Margteson, Budgie, Tracey and Seaman with perhaps Stuhr Ellegaard. I think I'll go with Marge in the end.

Anyone remember Weaver taking on Beckham early in the deby at Maine Rd? The 'theory' that having a big wall for free kicks from distance was actually a hinderence to keepers, blocking their sight of the ball, was put to the test by having no wall to speak of? Beckham smashed it straight past him waist high & he didn't get fucking near it.

So excited to be at first derby since 96 and within about 10 secs we were seeing the ball in the City net! Weaver got a lot of grief over that too - maybe a bit harsh. It was a funny game as Cole and Yorke seemed to be trying on purpose not to walk sitters in. Remember first time I saw Dunnie in the flesh and SWP was playing up front. Remember Alfie Haaland looking like he was going to baag one at the Platt Lane after rounding baldie but just another City day in the end. Gary Neville talked about City "huff and puff" on the rawdio.
