Team news

With the Three Lions hit with a number of injury problems, Kranjcar will see this game as an opportunity to cause an upset.

John Terry and Phil Jagielka are both out so Manchester City's Joleon Lescott is expected to partner Ferdinand in the heart of defence.

Peter Crouch will start up front in the absence of the injured Darren Bent, who misses out on the chance to impress Capello after netting against Switzerland last time out.

Wayne Rooney has been the subject of much talk since allegations over his private life surfaced last month, and the star forward will once more be under the spotlight.

Rooney has looked a shadow of the player that produced scintillating displays in the Premier League last season, although he was on target in England's last fixture.

Jermain Defoe, Bobby Zamora, Michael Dawson and Frank Lampard are also sidelined, with Lampard the only one likely to return to action in the near future.

Aaron Lennon is absent, while fellow midfielder James Milner will sit out through suspension.

It means relative rookies Adam Johnson and Ashley Young have the chance to stake their claim on the wings, while experienced striker Kevin Davies will be desperate to get on the field after finally earning an international call.

Montenegro are sweating on the fitness of Mirko Vucinic, as the Roma attacker is struggling with a hamstring injury.

H0lland-Sweden are playing right now. Sweden are applying a kamikaze tactic, trying to outplay the Dutch in Amsterdam. The Dutch are loving it, slicing through the Swedish defence with razor sharp counters all the time. One resulted in a Dutch goal already after 4 minutes. it's like watching West Brom trying to outpass and play Arsenal at the 02 ... oh, hang on.

Ferdinand just made a tackle which in different circumstances could've been interpreted as attempted murder with aggravated de Jonging.

Pretty poor sliding tackle by ferdinand, didn't even get the ball, but managed to take the player out. No injuries fortunately for united. They couldn't afford the lawyers fees.
