Even though the OP asked for the 'worst nicknames' I have to mention my two favourites:

Zinedine Kilbane (Kevin Kilbane)
Sam Harris the Dancing Plant (Giorgios Samaras)

Don't know what generation your from, but if you're old enough to remember the Mercer team, it seemed like they all had a y or ie stuck on the end. Oakie, Youngie. Doyley, Bookey, etc.

"Robbie" for Robinho. He will never be anything more than Robinho as far as I'm concerned. Affectionate nicknames are reserved for players who have contributed to the club, not buggered off (re. performances) when the winter has come and slagged his employers off relentlessly.

Not too sure why people don't like 'Jinky'; surely this is just a throwback to the previous 'Jinky' Johnson - too oldskool? I think AJ sounds crap. Lacks invention.

I quite liked 'Terry Henry' it was like denying him some of his poncey Frenchness.

Got to agree with sticking 'y' or 'o' on the end as total rubbish, it's just lazy and boring. Seems to me that most of the good ones are made by fans, and the shite ones are made by players.

As much as those players are legends of the club and I wished that I could have watched them play from the terraces, the nicknames they have lack any imagination at all.

My nickname was simply a 'y' added to my surname. It's naff, IMO.
