I read his autobiography 'Colours of my Life' this year. An amazing character.

Amazing character, such that he was the real life inspiration for Philip Glenister's portrayal of Gene Hunt!
Big part of our history, both in great success and resounding failure. Very much a part of what being a blue is all about. RIP.

Thanks for the memories
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Malcolm was such a big character that, maybe in the back of my mind, he has seemed almost immortal.
Clearly he wasn't, and I am severely choked up at the news.
RIP Big man.

Big Mal is one of those true leg ends. A football genius, way ahead of his time in coaching methods. Outspoken. Flash. Hard as fucl and he was a genuine converted BLUE. RIP big fella. Black armbands out on Sunday I trust.
