De Jong.

Looked timid at first but since then has been immense tonight and revelling in the captains role.

When did he get the sleeve done? Looks pretty good.

Class tonight, and back to his usual be[strike]a[/strike]st!

Sidenote: Can somebody tell me what is the purpose of the tape around the wrists? Far from exclusive to De Jong, but he is one of many who has it, and I don't know what purpose it serves - I'm sure everyone else does, so apologies..

Tells me it's to cover tattoos or protect the wrists - nonsense! If anyone can tell me the actual reason, I'd be grateful!

was quality tonight didn't do a lot but that shows how good we were that he didn't have to. whenever he was called upon he answered, and his distribution was actually pretty shit hot, finding ade with some quality long passes, shows he is developing. wish he'd score he'd go mental!

De Jong doesn't feel the wind, the wind feels Nigel De Jong.

I also heard that De Jong walked into Burger King, ordered a Big Mac, and got one

Looked like the proper Nige again tonight rather than the tentative one that turned out at Blackpool.
There was a lot to be pleased with this evening
