Training Friday 22/10

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Training Friday 22/10

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Fri Oct 22, 2010 12:12 pm

Went along to see how many of last night's 11 would be out and gone the expected zero. Still a good array of talent though and Kolarov with Mario working hard again and a few reserves to help with the numbers. ( Mee,Roman,Freddie ?, Razzak)It seemed a very relaxed happy atmosphere in the whole group.Still no Kolo so I am sure he will not be playing on Sunday.

Mancini still took a group away to work on defensive stuff even though the likely back line for Sunday wasn't all there and whilst they were away the rest did some finishing practice. The battle between Shay and in particular Carlos and Mario was fantastic. Shay won hands down and he gave them plenty of verbals along the way.Great entertainment.

Milner got a dodgy looking knock early on but after treatment was back looking fine.He seems a bit like SWP in taking knocks and just getting back up and on with it.

Cheers mate.

I must admit I'm concerned about Kolo, I would feel a lot happier if he was playing on Sunday.

Cheers Doug.
once again the selection for Sunday is going to be interesting. I rekon Boyata could cope covering for Kolo.

Think we'll see Balotelli either as a sub or a starter (that would be magical:) on Sunday? And Adebayor up top from the start?

Thanks again for a great report:-)

Mario on the bench maybe. Ade from the start I doubt it.It will be a real test of the man to keep his gob shut if he isn't selected on Sunday but I would expect Mancini to pick a side for the opponents on Sunday and not get carried away.

Bit of a selection issue isn't there? We are sensational with Silva behind the striker. But if we play Ade then Tevez would be there and, that position is also where Yaya goes. Guess he could put Yaya on the right though?

Can't help thinking that he'll revert to type to close down Arsenal.

Adebayor & Balotelli are 2 scarey fuckers to be bring off the bench! Imagine if they were sat on Arsenal's bench instead!? Just when you think you're comfortable in the game, you see those two taking their training tops off!! Jesus. Talk about giving a defence a new set of problems to deal with!

I agree. The decisions will be whether Lescott is the right man. Whether Bridge has done enough to keep his place ( assuming Kolarov still not quite ready)but I see the middle and attack being exactly that with Silva given the free role but mainly off Tevez.

Might sound crazy but do you think there's any chance of Tevez starting this one on the bench? The Ade-Silva link-ups worked a treat last night and Mancini has said that he wanted to rest Carlos. Just a thought...

Agreed we was way too open last night and we would easily get picked off by arsenal.

Shit news about Kolo - since hes been out we have shipped in goals as Lescott and/or Bridge just do not do the business.

Lescott is startign to grate.

I'm sure if Wenger got to pick our side then Ade wouldn't play either! I know the Tevez-Silva thing is beginning to click but I think we've got to play Ade on Sunday as well - not just on his performance last night but also the way he played against them last season. I'd go for this:

----------------------------Hart

Richards---------Kompany-----Boyata----------Boateng

----------------Milner-------NDJ-----Barry

----------------------------Silva

--------------------Tevez------Adebayor
