Of course Arsenal deserve respect but we shouldn't have too much respect for them.
We know we can beat them, keep Fabregas quiet and we'll beat them again I think.

This time last year we had just drawn with Villa and Wigan, were about to throw away a 2-goal lead at home and draw with Fulham, followed by 4 more draws including the wonderful home matches against Burnley and Hull.

I personally think our current performances are slightly better...

Of all of last season's top 4 Arsenal are the ones I think were best equiped to beat. We have the agression and defensiveness of a stoke or blackburn, who they never enjoy playing, but we also have the self belief and class to hurt them. I've thought for a while we'd beat them and our defeat of Chelsea and their loss to Chelsea has confirmed that. I just think we'll be too powerful for them.

Obviously, having written that down, we'll get mullered on Sunday.

We are winning without playing well, hardly see this as a bad thing. The filth did the same thing a couple of years back and went on to win the league. I'll take that.

Feels a lot stronger though, and so the squad is. We out-Chelsea'd Chelsea, and when we go toe to toe with Scum and Arsenal you can feel we are doing it at least as equals, and they are scared stiff. We are physically bigger and stronger and have better players than last year. The 5 signings in the summer have taken us up at least one level. Cant wait for Kolarov and Balotelli to join Milner, Silva and Boateng.

No way man. We were brilliant against Chelsea as well. We've only had two poor games, against Blackburn and Sunderland. We weren't good against Blackpool but we won.

If you think that the league champons get to that position by playing exotic an open football every week, you are so wrong. The League Champions are the team that has the ability to gain the most points. Last season we did extremely well in theopen games against the top clubs. It was against the those teams that came for a scrap that stopped us being more successful. I don't expect us to play wonderful football against the likes of Stoke and Blackburn, I do exp[ect us to match them stride for stride and battle through each tackle.
The top teams want to outplay you with football, the lower want to stop you and drag you to their level. I am happy that City can now play ugly and match them in a battle...Sometimes, digging out wins the only option and we seem to finally have woken up to that.

I can't help agreeing with John68 here, you can't win all games playing superb football, teams like Stoke just to name one won't allow you to play that kind of football so you have to grind out the win against them, apart for some rare cases, and we are learning to do that as well as play stilysh football when we can. At the end of the day it's the points that will give you the title, not the pretty football, if you do that without winning.

Well I did hear that Juve are having a new stadium built and using someone else's, but even so a drive to Milan is a bit out of the way for their fans.

Consider that last night...no Boateng, no Kolarov, no Kolo, no Milner, no Barry, no Yaya (for most of the game), no Tevez, no Kompany...Our reserve team against the Polish Champions...We were never in that sort of position last season.

Or any season John. Remember when we fucked things up against WHU in the cup a few years ago? Sammaras was on the bench injured for the previous game. But he already had a knock and missed WHU. Back then the squad was poor, but we also couldn't really call on the academy with confidence

That is only a mere 4 years ago.... But now we have plenty of strength in depth, so much so, we can feel confident of playing one or two of the academy, and getting by because of that strength and experience
