The only problem ade suffers with is effort for the most part. When he's arsed, he's an amazing talent. Last season against Arsenal, he was absolutely unplayable - why? Because he wanted it bad. If he wants it bad every week, he'll be one of the best centre forwards in world football IMO.

But I won't hold my breath...

But that's kind of what me pisses me off about him. You KNOW that if he could be arsed, he'd be one of the best strikers on Premier League. But all the crap about "football being secondary thing" and all that, I feel days like yesterday will be few and far between in the future. Personally if I were Mancini, I'd be looking to sell him in january or in summer and try and find more hungry replacement.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I really think he's been trying hard. I think he has a fantastic talent. I just don't think he's reliable. Imo, he's fine for where we were last season; aiming for top 4-5, cup run etc. He's not reliable as a No 1 striker, for a Chump's Lg challenge etc.

Imo you can read more into the chances he missed than the ones he scored. Not the fact that he missed them, but the WAY he missed them. It wasn't a shot put wide or straight at the keeper, it was a bad 1st touch or even a dreadful 1st touch, the sort of thing you would expect from a Samaras or Corradi, not a Shearer or Lineker.

If he was/is able to play another position rather than main striker, as is the case with Tevez & Balotelli, it's not so bad but when you are effectively the main focal point but it's 50/50 that you might just fall over or miss the ball completely from a perfect pass, I don't think you can front a genuine top side.

I can imagine him producing some superb displays in this squad & scoring lots of goals but Mancini is a ruthless, single minded bloke & I recon sooner or later he'll be in the market for a striker to take Ade's spot, (or Balotelli will show the killer instinct needed & grab the position). If Ade could stay also, then I'd be delighted because I rate him but either way, I think we need a true, reliable No 9.

I think that is pretty much spot on.

Give him another two games to be sure he has sharpened up and then assess his touches and all round contribution. If it is still 50/50 then your right he wont cut it.

I'll have to eat a spoonful of humble pie. I stated he should never pull on a City shirt ever again after his recent performance but last night he showed exactly what he can do when he's in the mood. Credit must go to the skill of Silva for putting the ball exactly where a striker would want it but they still had to be put into the net.
I think i'll just have to accept that he is a fustrating bugger.

I think I might 'Wait-Out' on this first touch thingy-me-bob as I seem to remember some sublime touches and runs last season and whilst he was Arsenal.

Positive words from Ade im glad hes prepared to fight for his place

Emmanuel Adebayor has insisted he has no regrets over choosing to move to Manchester City.

The striker left Arsenal for City in 2009 for a fee in the region of £25million.

Adebayor made 26 Premier League appearances during his debut campaign at Eastlands, netting 14 goals.

In the summer, however, he was linked with a move away from the club, yet he ultimately remained at City.

This season Adebayor has struggled for regular first-team football under boss Roberto Mancini, and he concedes the he has locked horns with his manager.

But, the 26-year-old has stressed he is committed to City, who meet Adebayor's former club Arsenal on Sunday.

Passionate
He told The Sun: "I have had a row with the manager and so has Carlos Tevez. The reason we row is we are all so passionate.

"We just want to be part of a successful club.

"It's not about money or egos. It's because we all want what is best for the team. These disagreements show we care.

"We have a shout, then get on with it. I think it's good. It shows we are hungry for success.

"It has been a difficult season for me. But I have never regretted my decision to come to City and will keep fighting for my chance.

"I am committed to the club and the fight to win things and the fans should know that."

His first goal on Thursday was typical of the first touch he's capable of - and that he was showing regularly last season. I still think it just rust that he's shaking off.
