Well, someone had to. But I'm certain that that was CityGer's intention as well.

Poor ol hammers were truly awful. They can't afford too many performances like that or the rot will set in. Newcastle are playing much better than I expected. Huge credit to Chris Hughton so far. They don't play lump it football either. Very encouraging that the promoted clubs are all trying to play football.

Well, they got one of England's best creative midfielders in Joey Barton, so trying to play football only makes sense.

Tbf Barton's playing pretty well. He looks to me like he's worked on his game. His delivery of the ball is miles better than it was at City & he put a superb cross in today. Some of his corners even miss the 1st man. He was a good crosser as a kid though. Just got lazy when he 'made it'.

I think he's been quality for them this season, seems to have kerbed his temper tantrums as well. I miss the 'tache though.

Good luck to him.

Exactly. I haven't seen the highlights yet but the report said Barton was very much involved. Perhaps he can concentrate on his Football now the heat is off him and on Andy Carroll.

Quite an open game for the first 11 mins or so, come on Stoke. (Jones is built like a ruddy tank)

As much as I want United to lose, I cannot fucking stand Stoke. Their brand of 'football' is a fucking disgrace for the game. Delap should be booked for time wasting every time he takes a throw.

Bunch of cunts.

Referee bottled sending off Neville big time. A clearer second yellow card you could never wish to see.

A few years ago we couldn't go through a City match without the commentators mentioning the filth on a number of occasions, so far I have heard three different references to City during their match. I think John is right, the tide has turned.

I was about to curse Evra for diving until I saw the replay, Stoke got lucky there.
