So you have no rag mates whatsoever???

I don't really have rag mates, but I work with the bastards and find myself in the same pub as them. Avoiding shit from rags has been completely impossible unless you work as an actuary or are a scrounging fucker and don't have a social life.

Write the Munichs off at your peril. While that red-nosed, whiskey-induced, pissed-up Jock is in charge they will be a force to reckon with let me tall ya. Do not get too arrogant just yet, we have proved fuck-all at the moment. As soon as we win a trophy we can spout as much shit as we want but personally i am keeping shtum with regards the scum. I'll bide my time because personally i have been waiting for 34 years up to now so a few months longer won't hurt me and the more they deteriorate in the meantime the better.

This is how I see things.

United fans current no1 issue is that their team keeps conceding goals, which effectively means they are something like we were last season under Hughes, needing to score 3, or sometimes 4 to win. Attacking wise, they have Giggs, Scholes, Berbatov, Rooney, Nani, along with the supporting cast, so there is always an argument for them that they will score goals.

However, when you add into that mix that the only midfielder near the 1st team capable of putting a foot in and capable of a decent performance is Darren Felcher. Anderson, Carrick, Hargreaves for one reason or another just don't feature, and therefore defensively, any team that gets at them pretty much has a free run at their defence.

Now whilst there are questionmarks over Ferdinand's fitness, he and Vidic are one of the best CB pairings in the league, but both have their off days and concentration issues, as seemingly has VDS recently.

The fact is, Fergie has dropped the ball massively with regards the setup and personnel available, and the results this season are showing already that whilst United can still score and have creativity in midfield, it is pretty easy to score against them. Any United fan who accepts the "There is no value in the market" suggestion from Ferguson is a fucking idiot. A blind man on a galloping horse can see that the midfield is not good enough to protect the defence, and for Ferguson to not have been in the market to buy a top quality DM is a dereliction of duty, or an admission that they are skint.

I mean ffs, when did Ferguson ever bother about finding value in the market? Veron? Berbatov? Nani? Anderson? When a club at the peak of the food chain needs a player, you identify the player and go and buy him - if you desperately need him, it doesn't really matter what he costs so long as he will do the job you need. For example Stephen Defour, the bloke Fergie wrote a love letter to when injured looks a great player by all accounts, and is nailed on to come to the PL, yet Fergie has held off signing him. His transfer fee wouldn't be exorbitant, but even so United have given it a miss.

No matter what way you look at it, Ferguson has let the quality in the United squad decline to such an extent, that to challenge, I honestly believe they will have to do something like we have done, and spend £100m in one go to shore up the midfield and defence, otherwise they are going to keep on declining, particularly when Scholes/Giggs/Neville's legs finally give up.

Arguably, their legs have already given up, as despite the attacking quality they still have, they are not really even of nuisance value defensively any more.

Agree with almost everything in that post John, except your valuation of the amountit will take to strengthen. £100M will not be enough to replace the likes of giggs, neville, scholes, van de saar...as well as bringing the rest of the squad up to the standard they would expect to be to compete at the very top.

Whatever glazer and/or taggart might say...the rags are far too deep in the shit to afford what they are supposed to have promised Shrek and the fans. I think that it is about getting Shrek's price up in order to guarantee income when he eventually is sold. Still wouldn't touch the scouse granny shagger at any price.

You are right about all the shit coming out of the swamp about wanting value in the market...Taggart is talking bollox...again.

Back above us again, shortest downward spiral ever (or since last season when we harped on).

And yes, I am playing devil's advocate.

Sorry BlueJ but today was a slip on our trip to the top of Everest...as Bobby might say..."Ees normaaal"
For the rags it was merely a grab at a lump of grass, hoping to cling on, befroe the slide down continues.

Look at the big picture.

And the fact remains Anfre Marriner was the only person in the entire world who didn't think Twatface Neville deserved a second yellow just before half time, so the Fergie/Scum factor strikes again. Clearest booking in the history of football. Cheats.

I really hope you smash em in a week's time. It might not be in hope rather than expectation, especially after last season. 3 late goals causing defeat in 3 of the four games you played against them is astonishing bad luck. Really is unheard of.

If there is a footballing "god", you'll well and truly exact revenge next week. Mancini and the players have to play their part as well- this isn't just another game (which seemed the approach that was taken in the game at Eastlands in the league last season).

Play it like the derby and you'll win handsomely. Bigger picture- you're clearly on the up and up.
