How much of a loss on Santa Cruz?

Postby Green & Blue » Tue Oct 26, 2010 5:42 pm

Now that it seems certain he will be moving on how much do you think we will get for him?

I honestly can't see us getting even as much as 5 million for him, has been ravaged with injury and will be a big gamble.I can see Hughes coming in for him as he seems to have a man crush going on.Could never really understand why we paid so much for him in the first place.Crazy money.

Yeah about 6 million I'd imagine but I really couldn't care less. It makes no difference really. It's also not gonna cause waves because the management team responsible for his signature are no longer here.

From the very beginning I could never quite understand why people were getting so uptight about the money spent. I could understand in the past when we could justifiably say we'd funded transfers through attending games, buying merchandise etc. But that's not been the case since the Abu Dhabi takeover.

For many, RSC was a stick to beat Hughes with, but that's a different discourse and let's not go down that path...

I suppose thats the reason behind all his injury problems.

No, he WAS a poor signing in that he wasn't - and still isn't - match-fit. But it wasn't a risky signing like, say, the 6 million we spaffed on Samaras at a time when we had no money. It's a mistake we could afford as a club. It was a mistake Hughes couldn't afford as a manager and he paid the price.

£18m and the price of a pack of Strepsils.

What a waste of a buy.

People often forget that Sven also wanted RSC and made a couple of failed bids for him in the Jan window when he was in charge.

Not really a loss, more like a relief.

On SSN this morning they are runing the story with RSC also saying Tevez is home sick. If he has said that then he really is a cock. Why just add more fuel to a already large fire. Should keep his mouth shut, get fit and them fuck off in January.

don't care.....there is no point him being here any longer as a) it's clear that Roberto does not rate him and b) he's seemingly never fit and c) although the text of the SSN interview isn't anywhere near as bad as the snippets quoted sound I have had enough of stirring players.

We should do a deal to get rid asap.

Increasingly it looks like Jo should go the same way

I bet if anyone said to you Ant, are you homesick, I'm sure you would say, I miss my family, Sister Of Fu, City and bacon buttys. But I'm sure that doesn't mean, you want to come home straight away. I'm sure if i lived abroad I would miss home, it's only natural, but i guess the media want to spin it to make it look like he wants out.

Very true that. I love "home" and everything about it but at the end of the day, I won't be away for ever, I have the ability to come back whenever I want really....I'm enjoying the experience even if some days I do want to machine gun these uncivilised beasts and return to the chill of Blighty

Fuck Santa Cruz, the sooner he goes the better. get him off our wage bill asap.

The Tevez thing is starting to worry me though. The story keeps cropping up more often than i'd like. I can see the little fucker quitting in the summer, i hope not but i just get a feeling he is willing to just drop everything and go back home. They are all millionaires nowadays so don't need to work ever again so quitting England won't be a big deal for him.

We were LINKED to him before he moved to Blackburn for 3.5m. Obviously Sven thought that price was bit on the steep side. I'd agree with him.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

try slapping on some deodorant. It can do a world of good in soothing the savage beast.
