The reports were true... Tevez unhappy at city!

Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz claims there is no rift between Carlos Tevez and manager Roberto Mancini.

City forward Santa Cruz was quoted as saying that Argentine forward Tevez is not enjoying life at Eastlands and that he is missing his family back home.

This has sparked speculation that the 26-year-old is unhappy at the club, adding fuel to the fire that he is also frustrated under Mancini.
However, while Paraguay international Santa Cruz does not deny that his fellow South American is missing his family, he claims there is no major problem and insists there is no rift with Mancini.

He told Sky Sports: "His relationship with the manager is as good as with any other manager.

"They may have some differences in terms of what they think in the game but that's what football is all about.

"The atmosphere in the club is not in terms of people thinking about Tevez and the manager.

"There is no such thing and their relationship is the same as any professional relationship you can have with any other manager.

"Carlos and the manager are doing the best for the club and Tevez is very passionate. In terms of what they want for the club - they just want the best."

Santa Cruz also insists Tevez is still enjoying his football, adding: "I'm sure that he is enjoying it, you can see by the way he plays football that he is enjoying it.

"I was just saying everybody would love to be around their family in their own country.

"He loves the club and even though he would love to be around his family and his daughters, that's something we're living with."

January exit

Santa Cruz himself is expected to leave the club during the January transfer window after not getting a sniff of Premier League football this season.

He remarked: "I have been training as hard I can to look for a place in the team and I couldn't find the chance to play.

"In terms of what every football player wants, we want to feel ourselves as a football player and when you are not playing or not even in the squad then you lose this feeling.

"I can't live with that and I think I have a lot to give to the football world.

"I don't think anybody would be surprised to hear that I am not happy with the situation at the moment.

"Due to lack of games and opportunities to play, of course it (leaving) is something that I'm thinking of."

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Spain while speculation has also mounted that he could once more team-up with Mark Hughes at Fulham.

"I don't really mind where to go and play, I just want to feel myself as a footballer again," he said.

"The only way I can do that is playing. I don't have any special wishes or anything, it's just about getting that chance to play football again.

"I think that I've been good to the club by working hard, the club has also been good to me.

"If my qualities are not going to be used by the club then I don't think the club will have anything against it."

He doesn't feel like a footballer? Well I don't feel like he is one either.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Swanson had him on the phone doing a bit of digging asking him if Calros was unhappy at the club.
Roque set him straight on the matter.
Must have been a pisser for Swanson. He will have to put his giant spoon away for a bit.

Am I missing something obvious here when I ask: Why the fuck doesn't Tevez move his whole family over here, lock stock and barrel?

At Carrington today there was one freelance photographer and when I asked him what picture he was after today he said Tevez I suppose. I asked why and he said it was because he wanted to leave in January! Total crap was my reply but like he cares if some scummy papare will pay him for a picture!

I was really sad for him that Tevez didn't train today.

In fairness to the guy, it's not his fault he's injury prone and that we forked out such a stupid amount of money for him. He would be a good player for a lower mid table side as he proved at blackburn, but we outgrew him and the level he can achieve within about 5 months of signing him.

He's comfortably on the biggest contract he will ever get and it would be easy for him to fuck about in the reserves for a few years and collect his money but he's realised he isn't going to get a look in and wants to move on.

Good luck to him.

This is in no way anything but a personal opinion. Wasn't there reports of Carlos hanging around with someone other than his wife not top long ago, and then his Mrs flitted off back home to have the baby. Since then she hasn't returned and all's Carlos shows is his kids names, not his Mrs'. Have they split-up and she's moved back home, I don't know, but it does seem strange that she'd choose to live half a world away, when she could be living next to her betroved?

BUT unless he asks for transfer, we will have to pay his contract anyway when he leaves so it's all the same whether he rots on reserves or looks for move WITHOUT asking for it officially.

I was just joking anyway.

Unless his family do a U turn Tevez will be gone in the summer.

If that is the case, then no doubt the powers that be at CoMS will know that and be making plans accordingly.
Tevez would be a huge loss. The one thing that has kept the rags afloat all these years is the fact that they have always had players who converted chances and scored goals. That is the difference between challenging and winning.

Maybe Shrek was his planned replacement and the rags realising they would lose him to us, secured a deal to hike the price up.

...and who in Argentina would realistically be able to buy the remaining 2/3 years of his contract? South American football is riddled with clubs who are millions and millions in debt.

Yep he's definitely about town with 18 yr old (maybe 19 now) actress/TV star Brenda Asnicar. I always say whenever this story comes up - "who is he missing most?" He is separated from the mother of his 2 daughters.

Pictured in this story - only facial but you may see what he's missing (search google.com.ar if you're desperate for more shots)! The gist of the story is she says Carlos is a 'great boy' or 'very good boy', whatever she means by that. Wonder why he doesn't move HER over? Better than some of our TV stars.

Me too. If he doesn't want to be here then I'm sure someone else will. Yes, he will be a massive loss to the team but if he isn't happy then we're not going to get the best out of him.

However, if he is happy to stay and play, then I'll be supporting him all the way.

Side note: Just said on SSN that The Mail have a story saying Carlos is flying back to Argentina today and could miss the Derby. Sensationalism?
