Douglas Higginbottom wrote:here's a go at what I can remember from the forum;
1) Will we go for Dzeko. M said we tried and he didn't rule out trying again.
2) I think M said we might be going for another defender and another attacker but he did say probably 2 leaving who had not had chances. So probably Shay and RSC
3) On Shay he said he was a great guy and would probably play v Poznan.
4) He was asked re Barry being caught drinking and said he was ok this time but not again.
5) Asked about a TV channel the answer was basically no we decided to go down the website route and that got a very big cheer.
6) Milner was asked outside by a young girl. She was ok but her mother was a phsyco
7) Why are we so defensive in home games was the first question. It got some jeers from the audience but Mancini talked a little about injuries and only having 1 striker fit ( sorry RSC and Jo) and using different tactics in different games etc etc. He also mentioned beating Chelsea and LPool and got plenty of cheering.
8) One guy asked why he played people in wrong positions ( AJ/SWP/MIlner etc) and as others ahd been a little negative earlier he deflected it with " next home game I will [lay 5 up front with Aj and Adebayor and Balotelli and Tevez and Shawn. Pity the 2 sat next to him didnt get in that team but the audience loved it.
9 ) Has Bellamy got a future at City. Basically no he said
10) Is Nigel ok after the Barcodes game. Yes he is and he is a very important player.
11) Will you promise to lead the biggest ever conga down the Manc Way when we win something. Amidst much shouting he said he would drive a coach along it or something.
12) Mancini was aksed about the press always being negative towards City and how did it compare to Italy.I think he said it was quite similar and that there are a number of journalists under the control of clubs would change when we are number 1.

At the end Mancini asked if we would rather win a trophy or qualify for the chumps league. It was about 50/50 with loads shouting both.Overall I thought Mancini was very very good. He oozed class and great confidence about where City are now and where we are going.

Can't believe you remembered all that! Quality.

HAve to agree re Mancio, the man has an aura that reflects total confidence and assurance, and it rubs off. Makes you feel like you should have faith in him.

Ah well. Least I got to use a Partridgeism ('blind ugly violence')and refer to Old Trafford as The Death Star.
He didn't give you the same line I got from GMP then??
Sis. Are the GMP responsible for both grounds? It doesn't make sense that they would have different protocol for each ground and I thought that was the reason why they differ.
Think it depends on who the chief is on the day in charge of the games. I'm aware that different divisons though pick up the different grounds. For instance I know officers say from Bury will cover OT while officers from Harpurhey/Longsight will cover COMs.

That IMO is prob why it's different. For instance i'm aware that how a Policing team works in Bury will be very different from one in Harpurhey and this is why you see a difference in the Policing of games. Hope that makes some sense.
Thanks Sis. I didn't explain what I meant. I thought that the GMP were responsible for City and maybe Trafford Police were responsible for the swampmonsters cos the swamp isn't in Manc, therefore the different protocol but it appears that from what you're saying, the GMP control the lot. Seems bizare to me that away fans are kept behind at the swamp and the away fans are let out at the same time at Eastlands. can't get my head around it.
It'll be different from the CC game, there's only going to be 2 an half thousand of them rather than 9. I envisage a seige mentality for them ......... in the toilets.
But they only had the same amount in the league game at the end of last season, yet they let both sets of fans out together and we all saw the carnage that happened.

here's a few bits I forgot:

Would Milner rather win world cup or league. He said arbutus stage league

Silva said his mum took his medal off him as soon as she got it and hasn't seen it since. Said it has united the country and proved how much football means to their people

The club are looking into a Malcolm Allison memorial but not sure in what way just yet

Will we Beat utd - Milner yes silva good game and send us home happy. Mancini 100%

Why did Boyata start. Great potential etc... And can only learn from mistakes

Mancini scarf will be back next game

Has the world cup win united the spanish side with different cultures etc..Football does that so yes it has

Guy asked if they could pass on thanks to the players for the spirit shown against arsenal. Proud of them.

Some guy asked about milners true position and having most inferior midfield in the prem (room laughed it off) Milner rubbished it saying we have diff players to adapt to different games

Mancini misses nothing from Italy

De jong was affected and wasn't himself at Blackpool but feels he has now recovered

Rooney? New striker. Said Rooney is a great player. Mancini saying we still need new striker though

Milner enjoys playing against former clubs. Thrives on the pressure and to get one over friends

Another moron asked Why no aj? Squad rotation every 3 games. Guy couldn't seem to grasp this

Mancini said next year champs league but wants to win Europa this year

Silva differences to Spain and affect in his game off bobby . Bobby signed him so he knows how to help him. Training not different all about recuperation not heavy based training

Bobby asked why we Keep changing back 4 (stupid statement) Last few games struggled as a unit but felt we've been much better as a unit this year compared to last. Also said injuries have dictated

Asked if Silva was struggling with English game but told to keep up good current form. Physical sides in spAin the same just the speed of the game that's different. Had no pre season and feels hes getting better as time goes on

Tvs in the stadium concourse not working. Danny Wilson said will conduct full audit before next home game

Bellamy have a future? Mancini said no but glad he is playing well in his house hahahah (meant home town club)

Anything that surprises Mancini about England. Nothing loves it

Should we be worried about Tevez . No

Milner scored a lot for villa. Said he is trying but as long as teams winning who cares

Silva asked to compare Valencia squad to ours. compared to Valencia great players Rome not built in a day building a team. Be great when it clicks.

Mancini thanked the fans for great support

Some guy asked whats Italian for cool dude to which a guy shouted Mancini

Milner - England players good for clubs not country. Learn from mistakes organisation was maybe wrong in the summer. together too long too many games tired. Qualification great didn't transfer it to world cup hope to deliver a trophy soon

Easier to deal with one big steaming pile of carnage rather than smaller steaming piles of carnage or so I'm told. Me personally I would lock the fuckers into midnight!!

On the negative press thing - Mancini said it will all disappear in a few years time when we are the best team in England and winning trophies.

Regarding the single pile of carnage versus lots of smaller piles.

Keeping the rags locked, whether legal r otherwise, would at least give a chance to families, women, children...and old fogies (?) to get some distance away before it all kicked off.
As it happens now, there are a lot of vulnerable (ME) people in the firing line with little or no chance of escape.

Thought that was worthy of comment

Totally agree John. As I said after the league derby last year I saw a very elderly lady stuck in the middle of all the idiot fans trying to get to one another, it was a horrible sight. I also found it quite scary and will be going out towards the City store this time and not back to the Townley.

I would have asked last night, which knob head thought the idea of a Derby on a Wednesday night was a good idea when the tensions between the clubs grow as City inch closer and closer.

Swamp games managed and monitored from Chester House in stretford. City games managed & monitored from Grey Mare Lane station. Two completely different commanders do each game & the only set of coppers who do both games are the mounted police, dog units & the TAG units. This must be where the discrepancies in tactics come from, different commanders have different ideas. The individual police officers come from different sub-divisions also. Before 2003 all coppers within the sub-division that Grey Mare Lane cover had never covered a football match at all and it was all new to them. They thought it was an ideal time to ''see some action'', typical dibble attitude and hence the heavy-handed approach.
This is from a prick that was seeing my sister who was a PC out of Longsight nick and is now a DC out of Grey Mare Lane. This is a bloke who never understood the concept of Cluedo so at least we all know that crime solving in Manchester is in good hands.

I think delaying their journey home by 10 minutes to ensure the safety of thousands of people could well be classed as justification.

Cruelty to animals is more appropriate, RSPCA objected to them being locked in.
