Small fish big pond maybe ? At Villa nearly everything revolved around him. He´s been very disappointing imo

I thought Milner was miles better than Yaya or Barry personally. I think our midfield is useless without DeJong when we lose the ball & I don't think we would stand a cat in hell's chance of winning anything without him. Therefore, I think we need to sign a DeJong mark 2 as Yaya unfortunately, isn't good enough to do his job, which I was sure he could do before we signed him.

Milner and Dave are the only players who can hold their heads up after that.

I think he's a quality player and would have him in the side over Yaya or Barry any day.

Yep I'd echo those who would rather have him over Yaya and Barry (on current form). Yaya is really fucking me off to be honest, either he isn't fit or he isn't trying, he doesn't look anything like the 'midfield general' we had at the start of the season.

2nd game in a row Barry has been poor. De Jong is vital to us.

I quite like Milner but I'm really disappointed with Yaya so far. I thought he would be exactly the player we needed; someone who gets up & down the pitch helping all areas, linking defence & attack, tackling everything. Without DeJong he seems to be more like a poor man's Glen Hoddle than a K**ne type player. Strolling around the centre. When he does make an effort to run he's fucking unstoppable, which makes it worse imo.

Milner has been dissappointing as he was the one that I thought would hit the ground running with all his PL experience. But apart from the Liverpool match where he had an assist, I can't think of any other stand out performance. He does his fair bit of defending
but going forward, he's in no way better than SWP and definitely not AJ. So I don't think on current form, he justifies starting any match.

Imo AJ flattered again when he came on. One very good pullback which Ade should have scored but he didn't learn from that & the rest of his attempts at creativity were the usual running down blind alleys & not getting a ball in.

If he'd played from the start I doubt everyone would be praising him now, he'd just have sunk to the same shite level as the rest.

Yaya was fucking shit again, and Barry was just as bad. Milner was actually quite solid imo.

He needs to play centrally for me cause that's where he excelled for Villa. Let him play in there with De Jong and fuck the other two off for a few weeks.

It was a good pull back but the pass was poor as it was behind Ade and he had to claw it.. so lets not be too harsh on Ade.

I agree AJ from the start would have pretty much disappeared like the rest and the key factor is the lack of ability to play without
1. deJong backing up
2. Tevez dropping deep and causing trouble and yes ball winning.

that said the players that were out there were good enough to do a job.

This week im going to drag up my comments on signing Yaya before we did, because he didn't play in a team that faced the same shit that prem teams do and it will take him a good while to learn what he has to do. Imo he was weak and it left too much for Barry to deal with, not having the specialist deJong there.

In general you can all blame Mancini or this player or that player, truth is we dont often have to cope without deJong's performances breaking shit up. I said before the game we may well struggle to adapt to him not doing that.. and for me it was proved so. The thing is though we have to be able to adapt both deJong and Tevez not playing.. it is stupid to be relying on them and have big holes appear when they are not available.

The truth us, they are all played out of position. Gareth was bought as a playmaker, as was Yaya. Nige was bought as a break-up player and James as an all rounder, yet we seem to want to play them altogether which leaves room for what?

Yaya is the real worry for me. He looks short of fitness, laboured in his movement, seems to lack any sort of appetite and is passed by in games he should be bossing.

He was diabolical yesterday and seemed to spend the 90 mins strolling around the park watching others. Zero positive influence on the game and that's not good enough for a lad of his pedigree and physical power.
