Oh that is sad.
Never really fancied it for us.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

Before my time as a player and not too much to remember as a manager (I was young though). Nevertheless, a Blue is a Blue and you had the chance to be part of it and for that I'm proud.

RiP, and as always, we'll never forget - you'll live long in our Blue Souls. Commiserations to all family members and freinds.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

DIdn't know much about him so was just having a read up, and found this about his time as manager at Wigan in the playoff final vs Gillingham in 2000

Towards the end of the season Wigan lost their form and found themselves losing in the play-off final at Wembley against Gillingham in a 3-2 defeat after being 2-1 up with only 7 minutes of extra time remaining.

Never realised Gillingham went up in a similarly last gasp manner the season after we did, and never remembered benson as having been Wigan's manager at the time, having got the job as a direct result of us beating Wigan in the 99 playoffs.
