Terrible.

There have been many many tackle type challenges since DeJong's which have been deliberately targeting the player & dangerous & most haven't even been mentioned as the player on the receiving end has jumped & got his standing leg off the ground. There was one on Balotelli which would certainly have snapped his leg if he'd been as static as Ben Arfa. The commentators loved it & called it a 'welcome' as in; "ok he went through him afterwards & let him know he was there but he got the ball..".

The lad is running through on goal the ball is about head height and hes looking stright at it, Valdes comes bombing out his goal, leaps up in the air so is knee is the same height as his head and takes the guy out. There was a keeper who famously did this in the world cup but cant recall who it was. I want to say it was the Italians but could be wrong.

I once went on a freebie food, drink thing to the swamp (I know, I know) & saw Gary Bailey do something even worse to one of Villa's strikers. The lad was seriously injured & I don't think he was ever the same player again. It was in the box too. Nothing whatsoever was given & the rags ended up winning about 4-0 wheras Villa were all over them until that happened. None of them even blinked an eye about it, just par for the course. Sickening bastards.

Is this his last game for suspension?

Van Marwijk snubs De Jong

Nigel de Jong has not been included in Holland's preliminary squad for the friendly against Turkey later this month.

Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk had previously banned the Manchester City midfielder for two games after his contentious tackle on Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa in October.

De Jong's international future is now in further doubt after the 25-year-old had admitted he was contemplating retiring from Holland duty following the disciplinary action taken by his country.

Van Marwijk did make a few surprises in his squad by including Mark van Bommel, Dirk Kuyt and Robin van Persie, all who are currently injured.

Holland preliminary squad: Stekelenburg (Ajax), Vorm (Utrecht); Heitinga (Everton), Boulahrouz (Stuttgart), Pieters, Bouma (both PSV), van der Wiel (Ajax), Maduro (Valencia), Mathijsen (HSV), Wisgerhof (Twente); Wesley Sneijder (Inter Milan), Rafael van der Vaart (Tottenham), Janssen, Brama (both Twente), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool), Afellay (PSV), van Bommel (Bayern Munich), de Zeeuw (Ajax), Schaars (AZ); Ruud van Nistelrooy (HSV), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Schalke), Eljero Elia (HSV), Robin van Persie (Arsenal), Lens (PSV).

There was also a piece in The Guardian by Daniel Taylor tonight quoting the Dutch manager saying that he and Nige had a meeting in Manchester yesterday and that they didnt go very well. Basically said that Nige refuses to accept he was in the wrong (quite right Nige btw). He went on to say he wont be in squad against Turkey, but will be recalled against Austria in Feb.

Almost seems like he won't be getting another game under van Marwijk. If I were Nige I wouldn't play for the cunt again anyway.
