Adieu Ade

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Adieu Ade

Postby frannylee » Thu Nov 04, 2010 9:17 pm

Watched the game tonight and although he scored, his performance was lacklustre to say the least. He never seems in any hurry and if a ball is not played right to his feet he does not often try and chase after it and even when he does, his attempts are half hearted at best.

He gives the impression of simply pulling on a City shirt once or twice a week because he has to do this in order to take home his weekly kings ransom

Maybe I am just feeling totally pissed off at present given last few results, but think we can do better than / do without Adebayor, and if we do ship him out in January it may give some of the others the kick up the arse they need by making them realise that this particular gravy train does not offer seats for life (or am I totally deluded and just in need of a healthy dose of Prozac?)

Apologies if there have been numerous other threads re this - have tried looking but can't see any recent ones, then again have had a few Becks so vision is not exactly 20/20 at present

Not saying he shouldn't be moved on in January/summer if we can get a better replacement but singling him out tonight is just plain wrong.

Him and Silva have been the only two bright spots in tonights game and against Wolves. 5 goals in 3 and a bit games would suggest he is finding his form again as well.

Our main problem is actually our fullbacks. Micah and Bridge doesn't offer attack and defence in the same game. If Micah is robbed on the offensive half he's to slow to get back. Whereas Bridge is so onefooted that it's beoynd believr.
Fortunately Neverpool is trailing. Don't like them at all.

He scores 1 in 2 pretty much throughout his career. He offers the team goals and good defensive headers from opposition corners.

Apart from that he doesn't offer much else. It never held Goater back and Adebayor is like a more skillful verison of him, someone who sticks the ball in the net on a regular basis.

He just looks as though he can't be arsed - he never seems to get out of 1st gear ??!!

Maybe things will look different tomorrow in the cold grey light of dawn ?

Nah - he will still look like he couldn't give a toss

We should play Lescott upfront - I loved that touch and then volley into the net when he was offside.

scored our last 5 and getting slated.

Honstly Adebayor could come round to each and every one of our houses, write us a cheque for a grand, teach us the art of mind control over women, give us lifetime supply of beer then nip back to coms and score a double hattrick and he'd still get slated on here.
Tracking back is overrated.

Thank you for that m8. But I insist that our fullbacks doesn't offer enough on our offensive game.
A modern fullback is running up and down 100 yds ofering crosses and blocks.
BTW Starfish had a lucky one and the pundit on my stream is unbelieveble. He's got a scottish accent and wank Neverpool off MUY GRANDE. Who is he?

I thought he did well tonight. I still don't see him as our No 9 but in the circumstances I struggle to think of a forward other than perhaps Tevez or Messi who would have been better. We were shit.

The cheque would bounce, the mind control would backfire allowing women to read our minds, the beer would be flat and he would score the double hat-trick in his own net

Sometimes I wonder if I've watched the same match as some of the people on this board. Granted we've all seen Ade play matches where he looks like he couldn't give a toss but, to say he didn't put in a shift tonight is extremly harsh at best.

I can not believe the op with his obvious dislike for Ade, tonight he was left on his jack, mainly going out wide to recieve the ball. He may have a languid look about him, but where was AJ and SWP, who were supposed to be supplying him the ball. I am not trying to trumpet Ade, but to blame him for recent performances are fookin ridiculous. As another poster already mentioned our last 5 goals have come from Ade himself
