And also he needed to see how his fringe players were going to perform, and whether he could ease any of them into key league games.

But I think we can safely say after tonight that Bridge is for the exit door, the sooner the better.
And SWP should be out by the Summer

Given is back to bench-warmer, from Saturday on, for an indefinite period, no matter how much he sulks.
Boyata needs to have his confidence rebuilt, perhaps in FA Cup games, and in substitute right back appearances.
(but no starting spot until he's rebuilt his confidence with a run of solid substitute performances)

Milner can't run the midfield
Vieira can't last 75 minutes, any more.
Micah Richards is still a 'work in progress': I wouldn't write him off yet

On the positive side:
Zaba always puts in a solid shift
Ade is worth a starting place: let Balotelli fight it out with him.

As for David Silva: what more can one say?

dont know how u can write such a 'make sense' post when were this angry lol

Although I am not suggesting Mancini out or that O'Neil would be a good replacement if he did go BUT it is nothing to do with attracting big names. We have plenty of them already but it is about getting what we have to play well together and win games.

Absolutely. If the penny hasn't dropped yet, that 'big names' are not what we need, rather that we need a team, I don't know how much more evidence is required.

Personally I'd have to go & kick next door's cat if ONeil was brought in though. In fact I think it would have to leave town.

Didn't see the full game last night, saw the last 35 mins or so. Thought we were a bit unlucky with the result considering we played our 2nd choice goalkeeper, 2nd choice left back, 3rd and 4th choice centre halves, 5/6th choice centre mids and 2nd choice striker. We were a few mins from a decent draw against a decent team in their home stadium. Poor header from Dedders but 99 times out of 100 the ball would have gone clear. Or Shay could have shouted for him to leave it or even come out and caught it. Even then we very nearly equalised. Also thought their 3rd was a foul, but an unstoppable shot none the less. We'll still win the group and hoefully Juve will get knocked out.

A bit more perspective - Against Arsenal we were very unlucky and I thought we were as good as them with 10 men for a lot of the game. And we could have been 2 up before the sending off. At Wolves we looked good until we scored, but we were shit after that.

I can't think of 2 games in a row where we've put out the same defence, never mind the same team. We'll be better when we're settled, and played together a bit more.

But they still do my fucking head in.......

Hi guys. Can anyone who travelled to poznan tell me what it was like? Did you have any trouble there? I'm thinking about taking my kid over to Poland, not against poznan, and we'll be in the away end in a el game. Do you think there will be problems and a better indication, would you take your kid?
Thanks for your help

The only bit of trouble that we had out there was in the London pub in the square, a few Polish lads burst into the pub and started throwing bottles into the pub but they could have been random idiots and not Poznan fans. On the whole we had a good trip with hardly any bother but i did get the feeling in the evening after the game that a lot of small groups of Poznan fans wandering around the square could easily have formed into one large group if they needed to.
