"Let's all do the Posnan"

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

"Let's all do the Posnan"

Postby Dronny » Sun Nov 21, 2010 11:08 pm

What a great game it was today and so happy for my kids who came along, they have a fantastic 100% record of watching City live!

Funniest thing of the whole day and I'm not sure if you could pick it up on tele was the chant of "let's all do the Posnan" after City's goals, you literally had 100's of City fans turning their backs to the game and linking arms a la the Posnan fans at COMS and jumping up and down. Absolutely quality and by the fourth goal there were loads joining in!!

Sorry, you did have to be there!

PS. The team spirit today was fab, after every goal the lads mobbed each other without exception - well apart from Joe!

Going to stoke, hope we get a chance to do it then, looked fun :D

and i too was pleased that we celebrated the goals today, it's one thing i've not been too happy about this year it was like there is no emotion apart from the goalscorer when we score.

I saw it on the telly, and straight away got what you were trying to do. But at that time only about a quarter of the supporters in the stand was joining in, so it looked a bit like a shambles. The Dutch commentator had no clue what was going on! "The City fans are ... eh ... celebrating ?!?!"

Did you see Tevez and Zabs face after the 4th, it were a team devoid of team sprit then I don't know what team sprit is. Looked bloody brillant in slow mo.

BEAMING!!! He looked so happy. He loves scoring and if thats the face of a chap who wants to quit football or leave City then I am the pope. You have to laugh when you see him like that.

Saw the lads doing the Posnan on the web link, looked funny.

Bloody copy cats we started that vs. poznan at home ;-)

Away fans are immense and we need to sort it out at home or the lads will be too nervous.

Tevez hates it at City though, you know?? Even after his first, when he ran over beaming like a Cheshire Cat and put his City badge in his mouth, that really meant he fuckin hates the club and would rather be dealing on the streets of Argentina. And for his second, that smile really meant, 'I can't wait to leave this club!'. It's just a cover up really. Honest.

We got to first get the whole away stand jumping like that at Stoke and then turn Eastlands into a huge bouncy castle!

Imo this is funny as fucl and we defo should keep doing this! (Though I am waiting for the first news article that claims "City fans have turned their backs on Mancini")

Perhaps the best clip about us doing that is still however the one from Poznan where they first showed their entire stand doing it, followed by FOUR City fans without a shirt. Great clip that!

He hates it that much he tried to eat the fuckin' badge; what's all that about?!?

Could anyone explain to the thicker of us what the symbolism - or rather the point - of turning your back to the pitch is?
I know we do it cos the Poznan lads did it. But why do they do it?
