Just watched Mancini's interview on Sky Sports from the new Etihad exec lounge at Manchester Airport. It was the most complete and professional interview he has ever given. So much more indepth and relaxed than his press conferences and after match interviews. I was very impressed with what he had to say about all the questions that were asked. Still sad eeeez important about 80 times though :-)

Later today we also play our 17th game versus West Ham Away. At present our record is Pl 16, 29pts.

Not really a great deal of difference between the 2 records is there. Should we lose (and I hope not) at Upton Park, the playing records will be identical.

It seems a little obtuse to suggest that one playing record can win us the Premier league, whilst the other (almost identical) could get us relegated.

Just nabbed this from the locked thread cause I think it makes a point that needs addressing.

The difference between this season and last is 3 points, what difference would those 3 points have made last season?

As usual Slim, you are quite right mate.
I had no intention of defending Hughes, nor of downgrading Mancini.
I was just pointing out the relative similarity of their individual records and comparing them to the poster's extreme statement.

Those extra 3pts would have changed our perception of the season and made it a huge success. All we have to do is beat the Hammers today.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

As Yaya has just demonstrated, the difference between success and failure is very slim.

And I am not talking about myself in the third person.

This is one massive test for Mancini. Probably his biggest yet.

Tevez, up until this morning, was probably everyone's favourite player. He's definately Citys most important player. If there were ever a player versus manager/club situation, this is it.

We saw it with Terry at Chelski. We saw it with Shrek at The Scum. Both clubs bowed to player pressure and caved in to keep their star men.

What will City and Mancini do? How will he deal with it? How will he end up looking when the dust settles.

Personally, I'd take Mancini over Tevez any day of the week. If he decides to fuck him off, bench him or if he gets him playing for the rest of the season.......Mancini gets my full support.

Nothing to argue about that, apart from underlining that all the Three Men are being tested on this issue.
