Rag post of the day

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

New Year greetings from a Manchester United fan who just HAPPENED to stumble upon this post. Let me assure you that cockney red is really a manc blue, sorry to spoil your fun folks!

A lot of you guys seem to be obsessed with United 'glory hunters'. You can be certain that you will not have to worry about it at City because before glory hunters can be attracted, a club has to achieve some glory. City has been unable to do that in over a century!

Happy New Year

Funny that, you browsing a City board. Have you lost the concept of irony along with the Ashes pal?

So The Man In Blue wants to talk about irony because I visited this site! That's a bit rich when all the comments here are based on one that was made on a United blog!

Have a look at what was written King Kev, there was no mention of City never winning anything but if you call two championships in 130 years GLORY you must be very easily pleased.

And yes guys, if starting to follow a club as a kid when that club was on it's knees and almost destroyed in 1958, then sticking with it throughout 27 years of not winning a title - which even included relegation, makes me a glory hunter, I most certainly am.

So the only glory you can get is from winning league titles? Your lot looked pretty fucking happy at winning the Milk Cup earlier this year!!

What a load of bollocks. Every utd 'fan' I know over the age of about 40 claims to have supported them during the bleak years.

Tell me, how exactly did you manage to 'follow' them from the other side of the planet in the 50s? You're full of shit Frank and you know it.

I found the post on my bookmarked newsnow Manchester city page......

Now what's your excuse for cruising and signing up to a Manchester city forum?

Ignoring the pervert for a moment though, I dont believe any city fan would insult city the way "cockney red" did, and I don't understand why so many find it hard to believe this is actually the truth of many many plastic " I've supported them since 1958 blah bla busbys babes blah blah, I once bought a replica shirt with Eric on itblah blah" real fans

Well if our rag poster knows his clubs history he will know they once owed their very existence to MCFC.

A United fan who has Berbatov as his favourite player, what a load of Bollox!

Edit: After reading the next post I retract my statement. Any chance you can contribute as much as Walmai?

Pathetic argument Patrick. NewsNow did not publish that article on the Manchester City page and that's a FACT. I know because I wrote the bloody thing. And if you don't believe that a fan can follow the same club for over 50 years through thick and thin it does not say much for City ones.

Yes King Kev, winning the Carling Cup was pretty good last season because we had the pleasure of beating City along the way AND it continued a streak of winning title after title. Do you remember the last time City was able to do that?

The 'other side of the planet' is not as far away as you think mate. The world does not begin and end at Eastlands, Old Trafford or Maine Road. I probably know more about YOUR club than even you do.

Yes Beefymcfc, Dimitar Berbatov, the leading goalscorer in the Premier League and the same man who would not even bother to speak to City once he knew that Sir Alex wanted him. A highly intelligent man when compared to your Argentine midget

What a tedious thread. If you supported United through the bleak times, well done to you - any City fan under 35 can empathize. If you didn't, I don't care.

The OP is errant, in my opinion. United are top of the league and hardly a club in crisis; short term, what happens financially matters little if the squad are still performing on the pitch. They are.

All that's happened over the past few years is that the (self-satisfying, self-perpetuating) Big Four have been reigned in by us and Spurs. It's a good thing for the game because it was becoming really fucking boring. In fact, that vanguard/malaise was ruining football imo, not the money the Sheikh's put in.

Drawing trite comparisons between Berbatov & Tevez' intellect (they're footballers, who cares?) and claiming to know more about City than their own fans; it's derivative and something this boards seen a 1000 times over. Be peaceable or go away - it gets old.

Oh yes carl_feedthegoat, fancy me forgetting Fergie's disciples! Sam, McLeish, Hughes, Bruce, Kidd, anyone I forgot? When will a City manager be able to build such a network to help them win a trophy. One, just one so that offensive 34 year old banner can finally come down!
