He didn't appear to be too concerned about damaging other people's careers. It's not and never has been about making ourselves feel better: it's about having a work environment where the best people can do their job without having to worry about bigots and bullies who try and demean anyone who's different.
He's experienced enough to understand that he's not untouchable, he has to play by at least some of the rules.
