Training Friday 4/2

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Training Friday 4/2

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Fri Feb 04, 2011 1:07 pm

Inevitably a short session today with all the matches having ben played recently plus a few injuries around. But it was still a special day as I was joined by mancityfans.net poster Smythy ( Alan) and his lovely girlfriend Lea over from the Isle of Man. Luckily, even though it's the day before a match, they trained mostly on the open pitch as well so ladders weren't really essential.

Just 15 on show today with the long term injuries added to by Nigel and Micah. Kidd said they are taking it day by day with Micah assessing him but I have heard that Micah is saying he hopes for a quick return. No Assulin but he might have been over the other side as two players were training together as the rest of the EDS were not out after last night's game.

After some normal jogging and stretching Mancini started work with a team and it was mostly about the formation and shape he spent time on as they passed the ball around. The rest played keep ball circle and from the noise and laughter were in very good spirits.Just 10 minutes maybe before Mancini changed about 5 of the personnel in the team and carried on with the work.

Then into a game which was basically 9 a side with Fillipo Mancini in to make up the numbers.Definitely not as intense a session as I have seen before but competitive nonetheless.Tevez got a knock on the back of his left ankle early on which didn't make him smile but he was fine.Hard to pick a MotM or anything worth a mention until late on. Tevez found a peach of a ball to Barry who took it on his chest and volleyed into the ground and past Shay. He thought it was past him but Shay got a finger on it and pushed it onto the bar and Vinnie on the follow up and acrobatically tried to turn it in but it went over.

Then Kidd shouted it was golden goal time and I got the impression the effort levels went up ever so slightly but it was Silva who broke down the middle and found the bottom corner for the winner. As they left Mancini again got all the defenders together for a good talking to and quite a long one as well. While that was going on Alan shouted SWP and Milner across before they left and got a couple of autographs.

I got the chance to shake SWP's hand and on behalf of all City fans told him we love him. That's my motivational chat for Shauny and he said yeah I love you back man. ( I think that was it and it's the City fans not me of course;)) I felt I should say something to Milner as well so I said how different and funny he was in training compared to how he is in interviews. He smiled and said well I hate cameras don't I? He really is excellent in all aspects in training.

I also shouted to Shay as he went out about him being a celebrity chef. He laughed and said something but all I could make out was that it was a fix! I am sure Andie will know more about that.

Hi doug .Just a quicky to see if you could shed some light on a very strong rumour from a good city contact. After the midweek game all players were told by rm to stay on the team bus until he had a word with them on the bus in the car park at carrington.rm was running late and told a member of his staff the team must stay put but tevez may leave....tevez left and other players started a revolt on the bus after a no show from mancini after 10 mins.....jo jumped in his motor and left, followed by silva.shortly after the rm arrives and all hell broke loose.have you heared anything similar?

This is absolutely, totally 100% true, so go ahead and print the story tomorrow. It's so long since we had a training ground bust up story, we thought we were being ignored.

Is this MarkHughes starting a rumour? I have heard nothing like that at all.Mancini started the session today with a chat with all the players which is what he does every time.

Anyway it sounds all wrong becuse if Jo jumped in his motor he would have missed.
