He was crap. The odd occasion he did something like finding space, he passed to an opposing pleyer. Seriously, what is it you see in him? I watched him closely, sat 10 yards from him in the 2nd half, mainly, and he is nervous, twitchy and looks utterly lost. It's a bad buy and Mancini is blind if he can't see it. He should just accept he dropped a bullock, a big one, and move on. Now Dzeko...are you as worried as me or is it settling in issues for him?

Fuck me, it's bad enough to slag a player like Boateng who yesterday was much better than his usual, thus showing signs of improving (plus I liked his rock solid tackle into the box in the second half, can't remember on who though) but to slag Dzeko who's been here less than a month, in a side which has not always played its best football lately, thus dragging him down too, it's a fair bit of overreacting on your part, mate! ;) Really, we haven't played to nay of his strengths so far, I saw someone mentioning in another thread that yesterday we kept crossing while he wasn't there, then as soon as he came on we only had one cross...he's not only a header of the ball but that's one of his main strengths, if we don't exploit that it's our fault, not his. also, consider the change of league, nation, playing style of the team around him...he needs some months to adapt for sure, he was never going to score an hattrick every other game. Had he had a whole preseason with us, things would have been different...
But I'm confident his first Prem goal is coming very soon, if you get my meaning ;)

Get a grip mate. I am not slagging Dzeko, simply asking if anyone shares my concerns. If you can't see weaknesses in these 2 players, as they curently stand, that's your business. I'll retain my opinions until they convince me otherwise. Boateng though, if he turns out to be a player, I will streak across the pitch. I will do it, hold me to it. Dazby, perhaps you are right, I really hope you are. He was better yesterday than some of the other truly appalling games he has had, but if he can't pass a ball 30 yards, he's got trouble. On one occasion, he passed to a WBA player when one of our fellas was not even 20 yards away. I have to challenge that, it was pathetic.

Bollocks! Absolutely not writing him off, not my business to anyway and I hope like everyone that he turns out to be great. Just asking if others see weaknesses. You don't, fair enough. Tell me what strengths you see. Perhaps that is a more positive way of looking at it.

Ted Hughes wrote:Boateng defended pretty well but he didn't attack very well at all. He's learning all the time though & I'm sure he'll be fine eventually but right now he's still our 3rd best right back & 5th best centre half imo.
