Where ARE all these people?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Could do with setting up a list of people on here who like myself always need tickets when coming over from abroad. These "no shows" could help me a lot as next season I hope to increase my number of trips across. Anyone with other ideas in the same boat as me?

There are plenty of blues in the Northampton area that drive up to the games so you can hook up with them and cut the travelling costs down and there is always a few spare match tickets floating about.

I have a season card in 110, and admittedly I can't get to every game. However, it gets used for most games by fellow Manx Blues.

So far the card has only missed 3 games this season. Arsenal and Newcastle (Sunday's) and Everton when the flights were cancelled at the last minute due to snow. I don't think that's too bad a ratio myself.

In addition, I have a fellow Manxie (now Bury based) who sits in the row in front, and is able to find someone locally if a Manx Blue isn't able to use it.

Maybe, basically people cannot afford to go to football games any more.
I know city have some of the cheapest going but it's still fucking expensive.
Especially if you want a few beers and a pie.
I bought 2 pints of fosters and a pie on Saturday and it costs me 9 pound fucking 90.
Robbing cunts, that's fucking expensive lol, just for a half time snack.
Don't blame some people for not going really with prices like that.

I live in Darwen and have to use the train to get to Manchester, then a bus or a taxi from Victoria station to the ground. Last time me and my kids went to a match it was last season's home tie against Spurs. When we bought the tickets it was scheduled to be a weekend (afternoon kick off) game but because of cup ties it was postponed and played midweek with an 8pm kick off. After the match and after a frantic search for a taxi on Ashton New Road we just about made the last train home by the skin of our teeth. I would love to go to more games but midweek matches simply kick off too late and now I can't trust a weekend match to be played at the weekend. If there are any blues in the Darwen/Blackburn area who would be willing to offer a lift to and from some games I would be happy to share the costs but if not, I will be watching most home games via Live Online Footy xx

I know the reasons behind it, but the Fulham game was scheduled for a Monday night KO. I had booked cheap train tickets and a travelodge as I finish a bout of shifts that day so was able to make the game, albeit having to stay in Manc overnight. Bugger me if they haven't just changed it to a Sunday afternoon! That means I can't make it AND I lose the money for the hotel and train fare - about $60 in total! Can't get a refund as they are the cheapest fees available.
Fans needs are NEVER taken into account when changing fixyures around, although I realise that now, some kids may be able to attend who wouldn't have been able to if it had been at night.
But still, once a date is set for a game, they should stick to it - the game had already been moved from Saturday afternoon to Monday night.

We are not, we're not really here......

2 old folk just in front of me, only turn up for the big games, when it's warm, always 10 mins late and leave 10 mins early. They've been ST/SC holders for more years than I've been alive I reckon, so no complaints from me.

Valid points Paul but here we are talking mainly about people who have already bought STs or maybe seats - they could take a flask and a sarnie I guess.

Some interesting answers on here but we seem to have it worse than other clubs.

Which brings us to another mystery - why clubs are allowed to quote an 'attendance' that includes people who haven't attended? Us, Arsenal and Scum do it all the time, I guess it's standard practice nowadays. The attendance is all 'bought' seats.

But it shouldn't be.

The two seats next to mine in 216 were empty the last 40 minutes on Saturday. The bloke sitting next to me got a bit too carried away giving the WBA fans abuse, so he and his missus were thrown out for him using the f-word six times in one sentence.

It was a really ridiculous decision on the cops part, seeing that the banter was quite good humoured, and there wasn't any bad or threatening atmosphere between the home and away fans.
