So? Does that mean we should camp in our own half with the only player daring to venture over the half way line is Tevez?

If we set up for a 0-0 draw it shows a weak, negative mentality.

Not nervous at all about this one.
Not only is our squad player for player better than theirs...
Not only do our strikers have good scoring records against them...
Not only could we trim their lead and truly be in contention to win the Premiership...

But Gary Neville is retired as well.
What a time to be alive!

So are you happy for us to go at them and loose and you wont be bothered with this as long as we have tried to have a go?

There it is again. You are assuming if we attack them that we'll lose.
If we have a go at them and lose, of course i'll be bothered but i'll be a damn sight more frustrated if we don't even have a go at them.

How about having a go and winning? It is possible. Wolves did it last week.

I'm firmly in the let's go and win it, their team's shit camp. However I've just been looking at the table, United's home record this season:

Code: Select all
P    W    D   L   F    A   GD   P
13   12   1   0   37   8   29   37

It's a pretty fucking formidable record in fairness. I see this and think that maybe a point will do!

i agree with sis Fu.. because it is the Derby we all want something special, but from Mancini's point of view he probably couldn't give a rats arse that it is a Derby. For the team's continuing development it isn't important to pile in an try at all costs to stuff the rags.. that is more like underdog mentality.. or the kind of thing Spurs do to avoid the fact they have no consistency and are suspect basically.
Mancini will want the team to match the rags in quality all over the pitch.. something that can be REPLICATED again and again against whoever. It is no surprise we have been attacking against teams that have allowed it. by either sitting back or coming out to try and play. We have the quality to pick teams apart and we are learning to do that to all kinds of opposition.. it doesn't always work, as we are still learning the way and the mentality and the commitment to do it. So called bigger games with well drilled players are big tests for this team.. mainly if not only because they have only really just been put together. The bottom line is belief and professionalism... a performance that edges us that bit closer to being the best.

I can understand that doesn't sound very exciting but Mancini is not building a Blackpool lookalike for a kiss-me-quick season, he is building a team that can go and stand toe to toe against Madrid, Inter, Bayern, Barca and all the rest, it is also why he seems bemused when aksed questions about attacking intent and playing to win, he is playing to win just not in the way that Spurs fans would expect, at least not yet anyway. With Balotelli and Dzeko up to speed it would be a slightly different story.

So imo anyone expecting City to go gung-ho at the rags tomorrow is in for some disappointment. If you are looking for us to better them all over the park and make them look distinctly average, a bit like we did to Chelsea, then there is more of a chance of it. It will suit us that we are away from home and as long as we start quick enough we can give them problems. They are not the team that their position suggests and this game has a massive amount of pressure on them.. far far more than the pressure on City.
My hope is that our players can realise that and look to enjoy it as they are capable of getting the edge over the rags and outplaying them imo. If they can do that it will shut the fuclers up and we will see some great play.

I know where you are coming from mate but some of the visiting teams at the swamp this season have just bent over and let themselves get butt fucked.Their home record imo is a bit false because of this.

I would expect the Sheikh to be thinking the same, given the amazing investment he has made. I have no fear of the rags at all, none whatsoever, I see nothing there to scare us. I was confident last year, more so this; it is our time. I just hope Mancini sets up to have a go and out players rise to it. If they do, we will win, we have better players. End of.

If he plays Boateng...lol.

Absoluety agree

Those talking about not thinking of the win, why actually bother? This is Derby Day and however you dress it up it's anyones game and it's all down to attitude. I'm not talking United's home form this season, I'm not talking how they've won games that they shouldn't......I'm not even talking about how the ref can give them an extra man on the field. What I'm talking is 11 against 11, a true will to be the best in town and the knowing that you own the rights until the next encounter.

Win or lose, every man on and off that field must stand up for themselves, but themselves stand up for their team mates, the supporters, and the badge. If they do that, I'll be more than happy :)
