Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will stand trial for tax...

Postby blootoof » Fri Feb 11, 2011 3:56 pm

...evasion

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp, former Portsmouth CEO Peter Storrie and former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric have failed in their bids to have tax evasion charges dropped.

Redknapp, 62, was originally charged with evading public revenue payments of around £40,000, which referred to two alleged payments made by former Portsmouth chairman and current Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric to Redknapp through a Monaco bank account.

The Spurs boss voluntarily attended Bishopsgate Police Station in January this year. Storrie was charged with concealing a signing-on fee for ex-Portsmouth player Amdy Faye, recently released by Leeds United, by instead paying the fee directly into the player's bank account.

All three men are now expected to stand trial later this year. Redknapp recently responded to the claims by telling the Daily Mail: "I have issued a statement. I know I have done nothing wrong, I've been saying it for a long time, but the matter is in the hands of solicitors so I have nothing more to say about this."

I did tell you guys this nearly a year ago that he was due to stand in Feb 2011 and it will happen. The yids gave him a big contract extension before the start of this season and that's because they knew that if/when he's convicted, they can just bin him with no pay off concerns.

This bent fucler will get convicted and we'll see how much of a media darling he remains then.

There goes the spurs revolution when that trial starts because his twitching will become too uncontrollable he will not be in any fit state to manage his bowel movements never mind a PL club. His prospects of managing England will bite the dust too as he will be serving time when Capello leaves his job.

There was me thinking 'Arry' loved England. Cant wait to to manage his beloved England. Loves it so much he doenst want to pay tax to contribute to it.

If he gets done for this, doesn't that rule him out of the England job completely?

I believe this course of action may have been suggested to him in late 2009. He felt he was innocent and wasnt prepared to pay a particular sum and completely disgregarded this route.

It wouldn't suprise me if he turns round and pleads "ignorance". IE "I'm an inportant football manager, I get paid millions of pounds and I can't keep track of everything etc etc etc...honest Guv"
