Player ratings

Hart - 7. Wasn't at fault for any of the scum goals. Did what he should without being forced to any exceptional saves, which would have upped his rating.
Zabba - 6.5. Lots of grit. Really a bit too slow to cover Nani, but dealt with him well. Didn't go forward as much as he usually does, probably on (wise) orders from Bob.
Kompany - 9. Could - or perhaps even should - have picked up Giggs for the first goal. Apart from that and his unfortunate slip for the second goal, he was immense. Best centre half in the Prem together with Vidic.
Lescott - 8. Very solid. Not as good in possession as Kompany, though.
Richard - 9. Played with his heart on his sleeve. Loads of great tackles, and dangerous going forward. Had the feeling that Bob had given him a bollocking in half time for being a bit too attack/minded.
Kolarov - 4. Bad day at the office? Totally out of position? Let's face it, he did well in midfield against WBA, but today he went missing badly. Too slow to even challange John O'Shea, which pretty much says it all.
Yaya - 6. Fought very well, but was a bit too sloppy in his passing game at times. United were struggling with his physique, and had this been a home game, I'm sure scum would've picked up one or two yellow cards trying to stop him.
Barry - 5. Largely anonymous.Worked hard, but I didn't see him contribute too much at either side of the pitch.
Milner - 7. PLaying really well until he picked up his knock. Good passing and plenty of grit.
Silva - 8. Somewhat sloppy passing at time, but was definitely the one to make things happen. Anyone claiming that he couldn't be arsed just needs to watch the goal again.
Tevez - 5. Tunnel vision. Had plenty of opportunities to put team mates through, but decided to bury his head and run in to the wall of reds instead. Not a good day at the office for him.

SWP - 7. Some silly, good ol' Shaunie actions, running into defenders and falling down, but over all a breath of fresh air. We needed someone to threaten from wide, and Shaunie did. Seems to be getting back in form.
Dzeko - 6. Got in to some great positions, but his first touch let him down on numerous occasions. Seems to be struggling with the tempo in the Prem and with having so little time on the ball.

Struggling to see why Kola gets such a low mark and so much stick on here tonight when Zabba let Nani mince his way past him, unchallenged, for their first.

I agree with nool's ratings.

Only thing I want to add is Dzeko's first touch was poor at times but i expect that to improve as he adjusts to the pace of this league. Big thing for me was him and Shauny coming on really helped give the team an attacking spark today.

I really want to see more of Dzeko and Tevez up front with Shaun and Silva using their pace to support them.

I think it could be a winning combo for us!

4-4-2 please bobby!

Both out of position but Kolarov at least had the advantage of playing on his favoured side,he was shocking, looked unfit and uncommited.

Much as I love him, Zabba wasn't good today

Tevez 5 - Anonymous
Kolarov 5- Looks at bit lost

Sweeps 7- Looked up for it
Dzeko 4- Clumsy first touches, jury still out

6: HART - Couldn't do anything with the goals and didn't have much else to do today

7: RICHARDS - Looked like he really cared he was playing in blue today. I was impressed with him from minute 1 to 94

8: KOMPANY - Was brilliant today and him and Vidic are by far the best CBs this season in the prem. He kept Rooney very quiet until that wonderstrike

7: LESCOTT - Played well and was less nervous on the ball than previous weeks. Was not at fault for the first goal as some have suggested

5: ZABLETA - Love the guy, great squad player and gives it his all. But to play him on his wrong side against the most in form winger in the prem who has the pace to get past him was the wrong decision in retrospect. He didn't mark Nani well enough for the first goal - running away from the play rather than towards Nani as he thought he wouldn't reach the ball was a bad error. Turning his back on the cross for the second goal was something I would not have expected to see him do as he doesn't mind getting hurt for the cause.

5: KOLAROV - Out of position too many times and the pace of the game was too much for him. It's going to take until the start of next season for this lad to get up to speed.

6: BARRY - Kept us ticking along very nicely with off the ball running and simple passing. Went quiet in the second half and the game passed him by from 70mins onwards

6: YAYA - Very good in the first 30 mins but after half time I forgot he was on the pitch. Poor fitness levels are costing him and hurting the team. Maybe he needs to buy a copy of GiggsFitness this weekend ;-)

6: MILNER - Full of running but he's not offering too much going forward which is disappointing after the amount of goals and assists he got last year.

6: SILVA - Ran the show in the first half in terms of keeping the ball moving but faded out of the game. A couple of really good passes but too rushed on many occasions and gave the ball away as many times as he kept it. A man of his ability should be setting up more opportunities to score.

5: TEVEZ - Out numbered up front alone and didn't have a good day at the office. Ran into players too often and didn't have a sniff of a chance in front of goal. Passed it more than he has done though so maybe he's showing signs of team play.

Overall the team played well but didn't make Van der Sar work hard enough when we were the better team for the first 40 mins.

Hart-7- couldn't do much for either goal, did nothing wrong.
Richards-8-if he isn't our best right back, i don't know who is?.
Kompany-8-again our best defender,top marks.
Lesscott-7-better then toure imo, played well.
Zaba-5-nani ran him ragged, out of position, wasn't kolorov bought as a left back?, I'll say no more.
Kolorov-4-absolutely shite, lost the ball, didn't give a fuck, not good enough.
Barry-6-the invisible man.
Silva-7-great player, only if he would of scored.
Yawn yawn(yaya)-5- abysmal, another half assed performance, drop him, he does nothing when not on the ball.
Milner-6-industrious as ever, 24 million pound player? i think not.
Tevez-6- isolated up front, why oh fucking y does he constantly play one up front?

Subs.
swp-7-sparked life into attack.
Dzeko-6-we looked more dangerous when he came on.

Mancini-6-one up front at the swamp, asking for trouble.

I'm sorry but how the hell is Kompany gettinng a good rating for this one? Was doing absouloutley nothing 10 yards from anyone for the 1st, passed to red shirts on a number of occasions and looked in bloody no mans land. Nani made a tit of him on edge of the area 2nd half. He had a rare shocker for me.

But it reflects the other side of an argument. I think the reality is that City fans are a little OTT about Vinnie and almost cannot see or admit when he makes a mistake whether positionally or on the ball or in a tackle. He is our god and can do no wrong. Even if he is culpable it seems the finger will be pointed at someone else or nobody at all. Other players can have a similarly impressive game but all that gets a mention is a stray pass or being out of position or something.

Don't get me wrong I am a massive Vinnie fan and he has been superb this season and I would also make him captain. That includes yesterday where I thought he had a very good game but he wasn't faultless was he?

I am really torn about how to rate Silva. He missed a sitter, EVERY pass in the first half seemed as if ir was 1 yard in the wrong direction and cost us at least two good chances to shoot.

Speaking of taking shots, not that a lot of our players seemed willing to shoot when they had chances.. Yaya and Milner each passed on some good chances, Tevez tried a couple times for an extra move.

Call it how I see it mate.

Love Vinny to death, but thought he was in fucking no mans land for the 1st. Nani was the only outlet so why Was Vinny miles away behind everyone and leaving a big gap through the middel which he went through?

Your opinion.

I thought Micah, Silva, Lescott and Barry were all better. Kompany is brill, but both goals were straight through the middle weren't they?

Re watch the 1st and explain what he's doing?

Lee I agree Micah was very strong, but other than falling before Rooney's goal Kompany was top class. Barry crap, only good for a couple of fouls, Lescott was invisible in the first half, misplayed a ball in the air that led to Nani's goal. I will say this about Lescott, he effectively shut down Berbatov when he came on.

Silva had a brilliant 2nd half, he blew a sitter and nearly every first half pass was off line.
