I got up at 4am dry of mouth, nervous of heartbeat, to watch this. It was hard to take. But I still see progress, stats notwithstanding. Looking back to the first derby game, we have come a long way. We went out there to have a go at them, and we were creative and flowing, in contrast with the grinding defensive style of play that was the first game. On the downside, Tevez got marked out of the game--good tactics by the reds. Rooney did shag all for 90 minutes except for one moment of brilliance and luck--annoying, that.

Big deal in the short run. Next year we will be back stronger and more determined that ever and this will be a faint memory.

Stop feeling sorry for yourselves, as someone stated above, Shit Happens. Our time is coming, no doubt about it. The scum didn't get so 'stuffy' overnight, it took years of hard work and cajoling of the refs & authorities to get the stature they have nowadays. we will get there in the end. In my eye this is the first serious season we have had at trying to get into the top four never mind trying to win the league. we haven't the best eleven we can have at the moment, we can improve a hell of a lot but this is the start of something special. Fuck the results against the scum, yeah it's three points dropped but our destiny of a top four spot is still firmly in our own hands.

Uefa and FA Cup is going to be very hard.

Did you expect it to be easy?

Silva, though he played well, missed the target from 5 yards, whilst Rooney busted the net with what was barely a half chance, and that is the nub of the game.

In the past year or so against them, we've had to absorb a 96th minute winner, a 94th minute winner and a Cup Semi defeat in the 93rd minute, and then today we lose to that.

Being a City fan is essentially a continuous kick in the bollocks, but the time for "could have beens" and "should have beens" has to end right now. As Blues, I think we are all sick of hard luck stories, and being told how much the club has advanced. Its time we won a game like that, and one of our highly paid staff came up with a goal like that when we need it. Its also time we won something ffs, and we can start with either the FA or Europa Cup this season - its the very least of what our support deserves having had to absorb what we have for the last 30 odd effin years.

And even after that rant, I still dont feel any better.

Your'e points about the quality of players we have now and it being time for us to win something I think is right on.
However the statment that gets made regurlarly about teams being there for the taking is not right IMO.Nobody is there for the taking. It was their house in front mainly their fans and a derby. They put up a fight and just shaded it by using the advantages that they had.If they were up for being taken I'm sure we would have

Taking it as just another game and not influenced by the derby hype, then my take is that we are just suffering from not having the strike force in place and having played half a season together. It shows up as much in the lack of being able to push the ball forward fast enough from deeper, and also in stuttering a bit around the area. Apart from that there are no structural problems at all imo. i have been making this point since before November and unfortunately circumstances have thwarted any progress on this.. initially Adebayor not fighting to get involved, Balotelli getting injured twice now and obviously Dzeko only just arriving.

So i dont see any difference tbh. To put it another way, we are too much for a lot of teams already. just imagine what we are now, plus Mario fitting in well and Dzeko up to prem speed and both at ease in the team. Moving the ball forward would be faster due to better options and knowing each other, and the final ball and coherence around the area also much better. the only two things we are really still struggling with in a week in week out sense.

You can bet your last fucking Dollar that if a opposing player hasn't scored for years they will always score against City.

City fuck me off no end - always always always is the case.....shrek will probably go on a roll now thanks to noone challenging the cunt.

We always do favours for players that have been in bad form.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"
