"Bobby" is a charlatan

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

"Bobby" is a charlatan

Postby guv111 » Sun Feb 13, 2011 5:04 am

Or, rather, Roberto. What is this "Bobby" shit, anyway. I'll tell you what, I hate this fucking joker "Bobby", who has us playing some of the shittest football I've seen City play in 40 years. I wish he would fuck off, actually. Another expression I hate (as well as "Bobby") is "Keep the faith", an inane phrase trotted out by the easily pleased who think themselves lucky to be watching the shittest football ever played in the careers of these players.

We managed to string a few passes together (for a change) yesterday, in our usual tippy tappy, getting nowhere way, managed to bang most of our chances on goal wide, and some people actually have the nerve to say that we are "closing the gap". We're doing what? How old are you, ten? Less than ten? Do you not remember 2008, which was probably the last time we actually beat the Rags in a meaningful way? That's meaningful as opposed to pointless, like last year's League Cup.

I'll tell you something. This useless charlatan "Bobby" will win City fuck all, and he'll do it by playing the most dull, negative, incoherent football most of us have ever seen. All of his players came here at enormous cost (to him and Mark Hughes) because they had played outstandingly well elsewhere, yet Roberto "this is shit football" Mancini has them playing the worst football of their careers. Sven was better than this, even Keegan was better.

Keep the faith?

Fuck off.

I was trying to figure out why such hostility in such a post by examining it thoroughly and i think i found it, this user is a supporter of: not this shit hole. And with further investigation i realize he hates our site, and he thinks we and Bobby ( I kind of like calling him Bobby, it's perfect like carlitos and carl) should all die.

Well on a lighter note, I like to keep the faith. I also kinda like Bobby, under his wing i believe we will play amazing football, all the pieces of the puzzle are slowly being sanded down into perfect fits and the final picture my friends will be immense.

Stay strong

However, having clearly outplayed Scum at the swamp for the first time since 1968, and still being well-placed in third, I feel the side deserves a little more credit. 100 times Shrek would miss that kick, today he got it, end of.

Yeah I think calling it "Our site" is fair. Do you seriously think you being here any longer means anything? We are both members, we are both blues fans. The only difference we have is you clearly have a disliking towards poor ole Bobby and his so called negativeness. We played really well yesterday and the defeat sucked, but I agree with john the side deserves more credit and i think we are on a clear path to improving

Don't even bother replying to that bluelogic, I have been here since 2003 so I suppose I could tell guv to fuck off from "our site" and KK has been here since 98 so he could turn around and tell me the same. It's a pissing contest unworthy of a response. All genuine blues are welcome and their voice as valid as any other regardless of post count or join date.(cept PBL, he can fuck off)

We competed at old Trafford and were unlucky. If you want to know how far we have come, Taggart was so concerned he started with both Scholes and Giggs. What more of a compliment?

Blimey! If we get any better, he might be forced to play Charlton and Stiles as well.

I agree with the underlying message in the OP, although not in the terms it was suggested. With the money spent, there is no excuse for failure. And I'd consider nothing more than 4th as failure. He's shown no real interest in the cups, so if we are concentrating on the league for the first team, 2nd should be the target.

Stands back and waits for people to say things like project, progress and gel, without them ever putting an end date on it.

Says who? Is this some sort of magical proven formula?

The very suggestion that an absence of success is directly attributable to the length of the present manager's tenure is rubbish. It is moreso a nonsense in terms of City today, because all the foundations are in place for success - just like they were with Mourinho at Chelsea, or Inter etc.

I can agree that when a club needs building from the ground up, effectively starting from scratch as Hughes did, or when working with a shit squad - particularly with transfer windows it will take time to get the playing staff you want, and further time to get them playing how you want - that's why, despite much dislike for the inept rag twat, I was extremely surprised when he got the boot.

But to walk into a club which has an exceptional squad capable of competing, lose a semi final because of negativity, and blow the chance of a CL slot through negative tactics has lost Mancini a lot of credibility. The fact is, the spending at some point STOPS.....and whoever is charged with leading Manchester City moving forwards will be told to work with what we have.........we can't keep moaning that we don't have a left back, when we have NEVER bothered to play the best left back in the world cup in that position.

I hear the stability arguments, but that's not grounded in the reality of what city have become - we are not some bankrupt club which relies on ageing players eeking out the last ounce of talent to beat our midtable rivals - we are not that club any more, so whatever manager is in charge should be able to win with what he has.

What we have is an exceptional squad of players, amongst the finest collection of players in the world.........whether it be Mancini or someone else, they haven't got 3 years to get them to win stuff. That's not impatient, it is being realistic.....if we don't achieve 4th place and win a cup (or at the very least reach a final) that we are clear favourites for, we have failed, Mancini has failed.

If we missed 4th, unless we went completely to shit, I still wouldn't sack Bob as I think he's doing ok. I strongly disagree with some of his decisions & the ridiculous arse felching that goes on when he sometimes gets a result by putting out a side with a back ten, like Roy Hodgeson could do in his sleep, but I think he could be truly great for us.

ALL managers make mistakes. Most of them continue it throughout their careers but continue to learn from them & improve. If Bob does that & admits when he's dropped a bollock & fixes it, I think he has everything to be one of the best in the business.

All that was needed in the summer and last month was a bit of fine tuning, and I think it's only fair to say that most of us thought Mancini did quite well with his purchases - though where he saw the evidence that Milner was a decent player I have no idea; it certainly wasn't at the World Cup. The problem is we are quite simply no better than we were at the end of last season, and another fifth place finish looks on the cards. I'm well aware that Mancini won three titles in Italy, so there's little point in saying he's a bad manager. In Premier League terms, however, he's distinctly average, and repeatedly does bizarre and frankly stupid things. His use of Jo and Vieira in the Europa Cup has been worthwhile, as it's been against sides who would generally be at about Championship level. Using them in the cut and thrust of the PL and of domestic cup games in this country, however, is just ridiculous. One is so slow it's hard to tell if he's actually moving, and the other is just generally inept.

This squad cost hundreds of millions, yet we have supposed "raw diamonds" all over the place, just like our latest signing. As someone said here yesterday, when we are spending over £20 million why are we not getting the finished article? Everyone is always supposed to be "promising" and/or destined for great things. For all of those hundreds of millions spent we still get to see rubbish like Lescott, Jo, Milner, and Vieira regularly, players who simply would not get into a top side. It could be argued that some of our worst players weren't Mancini signings, in that case he should simply get rid of them. Instead, he sends them out there and we drop points. He sends Adebayor packing but keeps Jo. It's so bad a times that it looks like Mancini wants us to lose.

I don't buy this talk about us "looking promising" yesterday. It was a derby, you're going to get decent performances - and we were due one. The fact is that with a far lower calibre of player Kevin Keegan beat far better United sides, and with less supposed talent than we have now Sven did the same. I'd take Erikkson ahead of Mancini any day of the week. His sides have all played entertaining football - he even had the serial failures of England playing some decent stuff. Meanwhile, we are meant to content ourselves with defensive, fragile, boring crap week in, week out. Not just that, but defensive, boring crap that doesn't even win us matches when it matters.

If and when we finish fifth again, I'll dismiss any talk of us "getting it right" next year, because with Mancini it simply won't happen. At best we will tread water... and forget about beating the Rags.

The problem is that some people don't realise that Hughes did a really good job. Bob has improved us slightly this season from what was a fucking good side which may or may not have done better without him. Improving on a fucking good team is not dead easy; look at how long it took Chelsea to go from Zola & Co to Drogba & the title. He is now turning Hughes team into his own team, it takes time & he's not even half way through. If it's so fucking easy just by spending money, why aren't either Real Madrid & the rags in the final of the Champion's League every year?
