"Bobby" is a charlatan

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Have to agree with Blue76, Spartacus and Guv.

Having supported the blues since the 50's I am underwhelmed by the current administration.
Several hundreds of millions of pounds buys the finished article. Articles capable of gelling in double quick time and producing the goods week in week out.

This constant reference to all in good time is tiresome and endlessly repetitive.

We had it in the seventies with Tony Book and the eighties after the defeat to the Argentinian Spurs.
The nineties we trod water and had a bit of fun with no real expecations.
The noughties brought hope with money from the middle east. Money which we have now had for several years.

I along with most other blues live a land of perpetual pessimism. I sometimes wonder if it is the huge wave of negative thinking from we blue fans that solipsistically create the typical city results that we constantly see.

Anyway as I approach my three score and ten to be quite blunt cant wait for another decade of what if.
Never mind what if.
Never mind be patient
I want it now!

It's time to put any title hopes aside and focus on doing well in the cups. Yes we need Chumps league for next season. But we need to make a final. I don't care if we lose it, it's still progress. But we have to show something for the investment. The great thing is, I think we can do it. And so do you.

I'm yet to see us win a really big "something on the line" type game under Bobby though.

Not saying it's his fault or he can't do it, but I'm far from expecting cup finals yet. He is still to prove he can win the must win games.

Oh before anyone says anything there, yes we've beaten big teams, not what I mean. I mean games with something really riding on them.

Very true. But in the painfully slow City progress side of things, we made a semi last season. To progress further we need to make a final. It's that simple.

True, but Bobby wasn't manager for the quarter final.

I've already agreed with you. Would you like me to do it again?

I agree. He wasn't. We've done fuck all but win games of no major significance with Bobby. In fact the only one was Chelsea away with Bridge. Now he's gone.

Very mixed feelings on this one. I did think we were the better team yesterday and we played proper football in patchesand we weren't desperately negative. it could be argued that if Carlito had played to his usual level we would have won. At 1-1 I felt it was more likelyto be us that won it.
On the other hand I'm not impressed by Mancini either. We are in the mix but I truly believe that when the big moment comes Bob reverts to negative shite that costs us. That tactic cost us a CL place and a cup final slot last year and I've yet to see real evidence that has changed. However maybe attacking the filth yesterday might be a sign of things to come

The only criticism I currently have of BOBBY is that we have failed to sign a striker that doesn't need time to adjust to the Prem. It's all well and good that Dzeko and Mario will hopefully ultimately prove to be shit hot strikers, but right now we need proven ability and not ability borne from months of "adjusting". The only decent player we had for this role is now knocking them in for Real.

Sorry to have to ask this, "guv", but do you do anything other than start whiney threads? This one is even more of a joke than the one after the Everton defeat. Say something positive for a change rather than starting irritating threads telling everyone to "fuck off".

Fuck me this is the best City side playing the best football I've witnessed in my life. No shame in the performance yesterday - if Silva and Dzeko had buried the chances that Tevez laid on for them we'd have won comfortably. But we didn't. Roll on next week.

Which City is that? I thought you were talking about us for a minute.

Anyway, another thing I'm wondering is why - when we play relegation fodder - we only ever play half decent football during the first half. What happens at half time? Does Mancini have them running up sand dunes? Surely he doesn't tell them to take it easy. If he does, that's something else that has to change, and soon: we can't get 3-0 leads every first half, and anyway one day it won't be enough and more points will be dropped.

As others have said, we need 4th and a cup final this season, at the very least. If not, it won't be people like me moaning on a message board, it'll be boardroom people. The owner. People with real influence.

Those of us over 40 have seen City play genuinely good, winning football, and I for one would be delighted to see it return, whoever the manager is. If it happens this season every single City player will have to suddenly become something they have so far failed to be: team players who pass to each other. And that includes Tevez, whose tantrum was at about the same time our form took a nose-dive. That in turn leads me to question whether our pandering to him has disillusioned a few of our mercenaries, but that's a whole other thread in the making.

TBF to him he's not told anyone to die yet so it's an improvement from the one after the Everton game.

If I thought Mancini had given up on the title I would fire him tomorrow. Great
Managers, the kind that regularly win things, never give up. Utd have still quite a few tough games. We still have spurs and Chelsea so our CL chances are pretty good as well. I will be well pissed if we are not top three and would fire mancini if we don't make top four.

I'm afraid I don't. We have managed to squeak past a lower league team in the FA cup and should beat the next in another replay. We stand a chance of beating Villa at home, but I'd be concerned away. Even if we do, we're in the cup till we meet a decent side. If we get lucky, that might mean all the way to the final, but if he did make it there, he'd probably aim for penalties.

As for the Europa, we should get through the next couple of rounds and it will be extremely embarassing if we don't, but I don't see us getting much further. However, perhaps his European knowledge will prove to be a benefit and that will be the cup for us, as the premier league clearly doesn't suit him.

Hi Slim...Simply because initially I only posted the top 3 seasons and added last season as an afterthought whern someone mentioned it on here. I just slonked it in the bottom...didn't give it much thought mate.

Slim is right.. the whole thing reeks of sloppiness.. i noticed there is even a slightly hidden wayward [color=#FFFF00] tag hanging around for some reason. You may well like slonking things in the bottom John ;) but c'mon you have to consider the confusion you are causing.
