Summerbee on Sky

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The thing is, Sky are a major broadcaster who have just blatantly lied to a few million viewers, surely Mary Whitehouse has got something to say about this?

You think about it, AvoidConfusion went off those stats and although they may have been close at the finish, through the game they were consistently showing us way ahead. At one point it was 60-40 possession wise and it was only the last 5 or so that changed it due to them holding the ball. Buzzer knew the score but was treated with utter contempt. Redknapp knew, Yorke knew it, and the new presenter knew it as well. It's not hard to work out just by watching the game, but no, the Rags took the game easily in their eyes.

Was proud of Buzzer, was proud of the lads, just a pity we couldn't mix our play up a bit and stop keep trying to pass it into the net.

Probably as much anti-City as bias for them. I think that the majority of the media and the knowledgable pundits will say anything that makes it look like we are crap after the investment to date.

I don't think it's anti-City as such, just more pro-Top 4 and moreover, pro-Scum. Their armchair followers must be their biggest market. Wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't Murdoch who paid off their PiKs Note, they've tried sorting them out before.

It was a blatant lie, designed to belittle Summerbee.
This is what they showed live on screen after Buzzer had claimed City superiority in POSSESSION:

(From around 2:42 on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qi-_lxrSODg - 20 seconds+ on screen)

These are Sky's stats from their own webpage:
Image
(On this page: http://www.skysports.com/football/match_report/0,19762,11065_3349329,00.html)

As others have said, they replaced the "Possession" figures with the "Territorial Advantage" ones.
They could have shown their own figure of 50.2% and shown that Mike was out with his 60% claim but, mysteriously, went for the huge difference to 46%. The devious thing here is that, if challenged, they can claim they accidentally displayed the numbers from the line below.

Does it really matter? No. Match is over, we lost.
But it shows where their priorities lie and it they aren't to report the facts.

Right, got that off my chest, sorry. First post from a long-time lurker.

very well in from summerbee ... takes a lot of courage and love for city to stand up on world television and be counted for what he truly believes. The rest of the lot are cunts and apologies to Summerbee I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole clip because it was making my blood boil watching those lying cunts try to discredit him.

endless respect for mike and this was sorely needed.

I fuckin shudder when i read some of the shite I'm reading here regarding being BITTER.
The term BITTER is only ever used by a rag when he has NO answer and has LOST the argument.

Bitter is never ever used as a rational argument...it means you've WON.

the only thing Buzzer would have been bitter about after the match would be that he didn't get a 2nd glass of the vino. He's spot fucking on in his feedback and criticism of the punditry on display, regardless of whether yr wearing blue-tinted specs or not.

common sense. common fucking sense.

cheers

He did sound bitter (to neutrals and rags) because of who he is and when he said it, but he was spot on.

I think anyone talking sense on that show on saturday would have been ridiculed, Sky is a rag show through and through, always has been, always will be.

What do you expect? there have been no end of posters on here pointing out one angle or another as to why your reaction was suspect at best. Personally i think you are watching too much Sky and getting sucked into their agenda.
I have a good mate who is a rag and even he is saying that Sky are and were a bunch of knobs and Summerbee was pointing out the obvious. Now if a rag can see that but a City fan can't.. there has to be some questions asked surely?

Rooney’s goal was a goal that deserved to win any game. But I resent the fact that Sky tried to make Summerbee look a cunt. The stats I read after the game was that possession was 50/50,the had more shots on target but we had more shots overall, we had more corners but they had territorial advantage. But city play too much with the ball at the back. But sky used stats they made Summerbee look a cunt. I was happier with the performance, more than the one from the last derby where we shared the points. The reason for this was that we passed the ball better than utd and were more composed than I have seen us in a Derby match.
A few things we need to improve on. For the first goal how did Rooney beat Lescott in the air. How tall is Lescoot 6”1, how tall is Rooney 5”8. If Rooney could get his feet up that high the defenders need to be tighter and head the cross away. Plus we need a winger that we know will beat his man 70% of the time. Adam Johnson is not the answer. He is too slow and has to beat his man 5 times before he is near the goal. Plus this make the forwards run off side. The difference now between the two side is mental and we will need a trophy to change this. This is the hard part. Sky are as biased as The Match of the Day

What do I expect? I expect to be entitled to my own opinion without being insulted... and yes being called a Rag is an insult in my opinion. I do not think that anything I said when I elaborated on my statement at the time was so outrageously untrue that I deserve being called a Rag.

Obviously I had no idea that Sky was deliberately showing wrong Stats as, for all their bias, I would have never thought they would go that far.

It's not like I am paulmclaren who says Silva is shit or something stupid like that.

Sorry if I am expecting too much.

I get your point that it is a good goal, but thats all. It isn't worth more. And doesn't deserve to win anything but goal of the month.

May I advise that take the advice of your username and AVOID CONFUSION. At no point inmy post do I mention you, nor do i suggest you or anyone else is a rag.
The whole point ofthe post was to point out that the term bitter is used by rags when they have reached a point in the argument where they run out of rationality. WTF that has to do with you personally is anyone's guess/ I sugest you desist from being paranoid.

Sorry for coming to that conclusion after I used the word bitter myself, which according to your logic makes me a Rag.

What im sayin is tevez had scored it, it would have been the best goal I ever seen. When it went in I was gutted, but what can you do when that happens. You say great goal and move on.Just like Bobby Manc said. I would rather be beat by that goal than a cock up in defence in when it 's1-1 anyday. That fuckin Goal has just come on sky sports news as im typing this. Im not bitter Im happy coz are know the future is Blue, not RED.

Steady on, we're only half way through Feb!

Mind you it's only 2011 and Baconface salivated that it was 'goal of the decade'. Although he has quite an accent, so I may have misheard 'goal of the dickhead' which would be more fitting, and it's pretty close if you say it in Glaswegian.
