Aris or Poznan?

Postby xavi6 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 11:55 pm

Two great sets of supporters who brought a great atmosphere to COMS. One gave us the Poznan (obviously) and the other looked super decked out in black and yellow.

Who was better?

Was I alone in finding the fact they play in yellow and black and they have a full back called "neto" funny?

Very impressive support tho. Just out of interest, how does the allocation we gave them compare to the allocation Spiv and the lads got?

Tbh, yes they made a lot of noise & were colourful but it's just a load of bullshit to me.

They're not supporting Aris at all, they're waving their dicks in the air saying 'look at us, aren't we wonderful?' It's not about the team, it's about them. Choreographed clapping, unfurling banners, it's like a big fucking Chinese pantomime. They didn't even bother giving the subs a polite round of applause because it hadn't been arranged with Lionel fucking Blair or whoever else coreographed the bollox.

Seen enough of it now, load of phoney, self indulgent shite. Give me spontaneous humour & genuine football passion over that pre determined posing crap anyday. Like a bunch of North Korean cheerleaders.

I was in the South Stand, upper tier and it was hilarious...
Some of them never even bothered looking at the game...too busy grabbing their bollocks and lunging their hips towards the City fans.
Did anyone see the loonie with the rag pennant. The stewards tried to take it off him but it was too far for them to reach...he bent over to keep them away from it...so they took the rag hat off his head instead.
It must have cost Lionel Blair a fortune to get over here...just to face away from the pitch and look at his own fans. he could have waited a few days and done it at home...with no air fare involved.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

I was sat in 110 for both games and I gotta say for noise Aris were slightly better, but Lech weren't far off at all, I do agree with what guys are saying though about them concentrating more on the chanting etc than watching the game but fair play to them, if we could get people in England as organised as they are it would be an awesome atmosphere

Has anyone got time to do it though?
I cant see us meeting up in The Townley car park and Spiv doing the hand clap timings.
Ive heard Pozzer's and Aris do weekly training sessions and get their asses spanked of the ringleader if they dont do as he says.

Im with Teddy on this point.

Well, while I agree that they go over the top in that it goes on the whole time and atmosphere can't be measured in that way... the atmosphere we "create" at Eastlands is pathetic IMO. Absolutely shite.

And its something that definitely needs addressing because it definitely contributes to attendances and lets face it, that's what will make the club successful commercially and lead to a stdium expansion.

Personall, I think we are in dire need of new chants. Chants that lead on in a loop and get louder ala "you'll never walk alone" etc.

I've thought this since the first time I visited Maine Road and nothing has changed my mind since.

Every summer over here, the All Ireland GAA football creates an awesome atmosphere in Croke Park. Particularly the Dubs (no I'm not being biased!).

COME ON YOU BOYS IN BLUE

Fair enough, its a few cunts in a pub and it all seems a bit low key (any of the ones I searched for in Croke Park were way too noisy to hear properly), but anyone who's been to Croke Park can verify that it absolutely rocks the place to ground and more importantly, drowns out rival chants.

Think of it what you may, but Eastlands needs something like this. Badly.

That is absolutely brilliant! Great find!
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Both a bit unreal but Poznan get my vote for the ..errr... Poznan. It was like Strictly Moussaka last night. I thought all they needed was somebody smashing plates in the photographers dugout. More a national celebration that about the match.

Ted can say whatever he wants about it, this kind of noise in the prem would be fucking amazing.

Unfortunately with success will come the glory hunters and the more success we have the quiter the ground will become. True story.

I made a joke about him and Faty in the match thread. I think some commentator from the first leg beat me to it about Neto/Netto though. (and agreed it's a suitable choice of colours)

Orchestration or choreography is essential when thousands of people want to produce a sound in tune.
Simple as that. It appears that kind of support goes far beyond your understanding.

We won't sing for them only when they score or win or make a good tackle. That's why it's done for
the full 90 mins regardless of their performance. It's a non-stop effort to make them feel they're playing
at home every single time. We don't expect anything from our team in return. It's unconditional love.
So do not despise what you can't reach, it's quite pathetic tbh.
