I don't suppose bringing in Boateng, lolarov and Dzeko will have done a great deal to speed it up untilthey gell properly.
By staying at city regulation pace, the players don't yet seem to understand when to change the pace, either to kill a game, or to put opponents on the back foot.
With the inclusion of Tevez, we saw him dropping deeper and deeper. I am concerned that Dzeko operating up front is having the effect of closing down the space Tevez likes to work in. If Dzeko hits form, will it be at the expense of Tevez.
Operating too deep, Tevez is damaging teams in the wrong area.

Urgh, and again.

We have decided on this line up for next season(I still think Tevez is gone next season)....
Richards--Toure--Kompany--Kolarov
Mario--Yaya--de Jong--Johnson
Silva
Dzeko

Nah, I have it on good authority that he is more proud to wear the shirt than anyone - he told me so himself!!

However if he does leave. he will be replaced for sure. Also the obvious lack of a decent winger with AJ injured (as admitted by Mancini) means some more shopping there, and then there's left back, and.......................

Poor Torres, Poor Luiz, Poor Chelsea!

Spot on. They're a threat though, and with Spuds having a good run it's really hard to tell. But, it early days, come end of April we can see the big picture.

Three quarters of season behind us. Hardly "early days"! In fact, this is what I would call "business end of the season".
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

It seems like everyone notices are lack of urgency in attack and slow passing, I just wonder why it suddently 'CLICKED' in away games vs. WBA and Fulham?? And they were both a while ago, so wtf?

It is normal for teams not 100% in sync to play on and off is it not? We make it work sometimes but not able to do it day-in day-out and esp. trouble vs some type of opponent (park the bus for instance).

i don't dislike that lineup, but i'm curious about how you think City will spend the 40-50M we get for Tevez if he goes to Real Madrid or Inter or wherever?

clearly we won't just sit back and not spend the dosh, right? i also agree that Tevez is gone.

cheers

Ok. Buzzing about Blackpool result. However I made an interesting calculation. We are averaging 1.81 points per game. There's 11 games remaining which, if we keep that average, would give us 19.91 points from remaining 11 games. That would put us in 69 points which would've got us........same 5th spot last season. Last time one would've qualified to Champion's League with 69 points was 06/07 season when Arsenal and Liverpool were completely left behind by Chelsea and rags.

We NEED to step our game to next level.

It would be quite advisable, yes. But unless Spuds and Chelsea raise their game, it isn't a strict necessity for us to do so; they keep dropping points and we are still ahead of them with both teams to play; good results in those games should put us even more in front position for the CL spot.

So basically we need to find another gear. I'm far from convinced that in our current form we'd get result from either game. Especially Spuds who are always up for it against us.

We do indeed need to improve the points per game ratio, but I don't believe it's coincidence that the last time a team qualified for the CL with 69 or less points had been in the season following the World Cup in Germany. As it has been said here and pretty much everywhere in Europe during this season, unpredictability reigns after the WC.

Didn't we lose this corresponding fixture last two years? Therefore minor improvement.

We are still clear of Chelsea so not out of it yet by any means.

Chin up lads.

Then Mancini can FUCK OFF and we can get Mourinho in.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that we are "out of the top four race" but we once again failed to profit from Spurs losing by dropping 2 points today instead of increasing the buffer between Spurs and us by 3....

Even the one point might turn out to be useful because of our goal difference advantage over tottenham.

Goal difference - is that our latest crumb of comfort for an underperforming 300 zillion pound squad
They simply do not want it enough and if they don´t they should GTFO!

To be honest after that 5:0 thumping of Aris I really thought we would absolutely murder Fulham.

Crumb of comfort? Not really.

At the end of the season it won't matter a piece of white dogshit if we get into the Champions League on goal difference or by 10 points.

Should I apologise for not being a whining, self-pitying, negative cunt like the rest of you? Nah, don't think I'll bother.
