Training Tuesday 1/3

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Tue Mar 01, 2011 12:19 pm

As gentle sessions go this was very gentle. There were 17 out today and 9 of them were coaches/physios.Only 2 of Sunday's team were involved and they were Zaba and Kolarov but the good news was to see Silva and Micah out.I say good news although they weren't doing anything which would say they are fit and raring to go tomorrow but we can but hope.

The others were MJ,Vieira,Jo,Boyata. It was a keep ball circle to start ,some gentle jogging and exercises before Zaba and AK moved away to do a little something with a physio and Micah did some "work" with Ivan and Lombardo.I think it was only Micah who did anything like work. The rest played head tennis and had a bit of fun, pictures no doubt to follow on the OS.

Nothing to see so I left when Mancini was having a long chat with Kolarov,Micah had joined the head tennis and Zaba was sat down watching.

Great to hear about Micah and Silva but as you say it doesn't look as though either will start tomorrow. It would be great if Silva could come on for 20 minutes though if the match is looking sticky. I'm sure Carminati has taken the view that with all these matches it's counter productive to make the players train intensively as well. Good to see MJ involved but I'm disappointed that GA wasn't as well.

Any word on Nigel? We desperately need him back. Good point about the EDS match tonight.

Assulin yes but as MJ was with the first team today I would be very suprised if he played EDS tonight.
No news on Nigel but my bet would be no chance for tomorrow but hopeful for weekend.

Could the flip side of that be us seeing MJ on the bench for the Villa game?

Well Mancini said again today he only has 14 players so if he trained with the first team today I would say he has to be at least on the bench.Whether he will use him is something else

Well it'd be nice to have a comforable lead on the hour mark and be able to put him on, but then I think at the moment we'd all settle for a last minute winner of any description as long as we get through!

Cheers Doug

Cheers Doug, great report as usual. Sadly there weren't any pictures of the training on OS.
