EDS v Wigan

Could be another bad injury tonight. Assulin carried off with 2 minutes to go after a nasty challenge.
1 nil win Guidetti scored.

I couldnt tell how bad it was but it happened right in front of the bench and they were extremely upset. From where I was on the other side of the pitch it made me wince as Assulin stretched for the ball and the guy just seemed to lunge from the side and straight into his leg.His leg was in a splint when he left on a stretcher.

Poor game decided by a moment of instinct from Guidetti when he reacted first in a scramble in the box after a Bunn shot got blocked.Quite a few really young ones around tonight and Courtnet Meppen-Walters started at left back. Robinson came on late for Guidetti and Bunn for Mancini. Mancini had an amazing game again.

I'm hearing the injury mat not be as bad as initially feared,on initial assesment there were plenty of stud marks but no obvious underlying damage,.Scan to confirm.

Sarcasm Doug or are you being genuine? I haven't followed the EDS reports so not sure how he's played before

I think sarcasm just about sums it up.After about 70 minutes or so we got a free kick on the edge of the D.There had been few chances so I thought maybe a direct free kick.I said to the guy next to me that I hoped M wouldnt take it as it would mean a lost ball.He did and it was.He just wellied it over the stand! At least Harry Bunn came on for him immediately after and it was from his run and shot we scored.

Sounds like he might not be too badly done in by all accounts.

Am assuming doug wasn't being sarcastic about Guidetti, good player, tad short on pace.

I like Guidetti. He isn't quick it's true but his effort is always there, he has 2 feet, sees a pass and has a strikers instinct. Not sure he will make it at the top level but he is better than one in the squad for definite.

Donal McDermott - surely given our current lack of creativity and width he should be in the first team picture,he surely has the attributes to impact a game, especially as an unknown quantity off the bench? or am i miles off?

Oh and he's 21 now......

He is nowhere near prem quality as he rarely picks the right options and just flatters to deceive . And for some reason he seems to get taken off each week after about 70 minutes.

BUT he is just the sort of player who might just do that something unusual in a game to give the team a spark.I have seen him accused of switching off at times and almost not watching what's going on but there was a a very dangerous break today by Wigan from our corner and it was virtually 2 of them against 1.He sprinted back to nick the ball about 30 yards out. He does have something and when we seem to put players on the bench just to make the numbers up I would say why not throw him on the bench on occasion. Mancini doesnt think like that.

Cheers Doug, that is also my thinking,a place on the bench would do no harm, especially given our present thread bare squad - By being there,it's not as though he would be replacing a player with game changing ability.
Plan B may just be the ticket right now - Give youth an opportunity Roberto.
