He's done jack shit for us yet.
Let's see how we go before we start hailing him as the next coming.

Was a lovely goal though.

He's allowed one mistake.

Mario has everything, including shitty attitude at times. The goal tonight was effortless, absolute class.

10 goals in 13 starts. Love to see what he does when he contributes.

You know what the beautiful thing is? He isn't even playing well, poor infact.

He has a proper air of arrogance about him and i think you need that to be a top top player.

The way he took that goal tonight was a glimpse of real class. It takes a player completely confident in his own ability to finish a goal like that.

I'm very happy with what he has contributed so far and thats goal's.

I agree he needs to tone down his stroppy theatrics bore from frustration, i think he just expects an awful lot of himself on the pitch but hopefully thats something he can work on.

I have to agree with GG Kiers..saying he has done 'jack shit' couldn't be further from the truth

If Balo was a tevez style grafter he would currently be the most acclaimed player we have with a goal/game record like that

The fact he's Mario and doesn't run around like a headless chicken seems to have clouded yours and many others judgement

He gets paid to score..he's not even playing to his full potential yet and despite having an injury is already in double figures

I just don't know what the fuck else he has to do?!?

Imo, we need to involve him more in the play. Sometimes we leave him too long without getting a pass. Sometimes he was open for diagonals that would have put him through on goal & wasn't seen.

The other important thing that's been hampering Balotelli imo is the fact that he's quite clearly a centre forward. Push Tevez out wide for long periods of the game & see how good he looks. Tonight Balo was more central & obviously more comfortable. If he plays there regularly, he'll settle quicker than with all the fucking about imo. Rotate him as a striker with Dzeko & Tevez, don't stick him out wide.

unbelievable finish

A beautiful strike, which, given that it was a half-volley, and struck immediately after sprinting to outpace the entire Villa back four, and to the one part of his goal where Friedel couldn't be expected to reach, shows just what an awesome talent this boy has.

Just a pity that he almost ruined it with another needless yellow card!

In fairness to balo about that yellow card, Dunnie had been having a gentle niggle at him for quite a while. Sometimes it wasn't much but just enough to keep him strung up. TBH, I think Dunnie's old head was a bit too wise for the youngster and sooner or later Ballo was goingto erupt. he'll learn..hopefully.

Very talented in front of goal. Like Rooney now (not like Rooney of last season mind). Little else to offer besides finishing based on what I've seen so far.

Saying that, he's possibly the most natural finisher I've seen at the club and he's 20. If he keeps his head together and for once stays off the treatment table, he'll fetch us a pretty penny when he bolts at the first opportunity.

Honestly mate...you need to get your glasses on or your stubborn head out of your arse if you think that.

He brings a lot to the team.....aside from goals. And that's just what we've seen so far as he settles in and recovers from injury. Some of you cunts are gonna be eating some beardy jesus micah richards humble pie over the coming season ;-)

And aside from the football, he brings us some fun.....he's a veritable enfant terrible.

I think he's marvellous

Yeah, he is a lotta fun, but he just needs to back off on those cards; we need him to play more often!

Agreed! But in his defence I thought the booking last night was very harsh. Sure he did lead with his arm....it was certainly a foul but I'm not convinced it was a yellow card offence.

And that's even without the Clattenburg/Rooney element to the analysis.

I thought his yellow in the last game was extremely harsh too. He's clearly being singled out by referees due to either (or a combination of..) his reputation and the fact that he's a bit too whiney/gobby towards them.

He does certainly need to cut his part in this out but equally he's getting the short end of the stick from the men in black

Certainly feels like he's got a yellow every time he's played for us but can't be the case - anyone have the stats?

Great goal.
He's a fucking class finisher isn't he?
Once he gets his play to be the full package then he'll be world class.
Everytime he gets into a goal scoring position, I reckon its going in.
Still mad as fuck though. His face after the 'elbow' was priceless.

I think he is a great football player.
I don't mind him being different from all the other players.

I like him for what he is.

I think he fits Man City perfectly.

Mario is a punk and I love it.

Adding to this, it was a very soft yellow imho. Especially compared with Rooney's incident, which the same Clattenburg deemed worthy of nothing else than a free kick.

Finally we have someone who can literally shoot from anywhere and isn't shy about it either.

WHAT A FINISH, I mean come on, that was just sublime skill.

Still got the attitude problem so it's not a case yet of "haha, you doubters are wrong" because I don't think anyone doubted his talent. But we'll see if the package comes together and I think even Carl might be willing to give him that chance now...Carl?
