And unlike others, he has the natural ability and skill to hold down a spot. Vinnie K and Lescott could be a partnership for the next 5 years.

Lescott is growing in stature, and played exellent last night, one fella that goes about his business with no hassle in Zabba hes a fantastic professional, at one point he gave the ball away on the half way line chased back and headed out for a throw in and he just threw a tantrum at himself gor giving the ball away....... if we have a few more like zabba we would do even better!!!

Getting better with each game, confidence growing and now alongside Kompany represents our best pairing. As he's left footed it adds balance too.

Just one small gripe - wheres all the goals he's used to get? He's been ineffectual at set pieces for City so would like to see him contributing more from corners into the box, as he was good for 5-10 goals a year at Everton and we had hoped for the same here.

I thought he started approaching decent form last season twice but then suffered injuries. He was tremendous v Arsenal in the Carling Cup for instance. Excellent game last night and I still hope that he forms a partnership with Vincent.

Was he playing as a leftback when he was scoring for Everton?
