Vinnie for me. Would be first name on the team sheet. This season he has been absolutely amazing.

Credit also for the close runners up;

Tevez
Silva

Kompany have really been outstanding. Tevez have been great, and Silva have started out brightly.

1. Kompany
2. Silva
3. Tevez

But seeing as the supporters club vote for it then it will go to Richard Dunne.

Carlos and his goals have been the difference between being in the top 4 and not.

Simple for me.

I'm not registering my vote yet; I think Kompany is probably just about ahead, by a short head, but his three rivals are bunching together, and breathing down his neck.
I think Nigel's extended absences through injury has probably seen him slide to 4th place; Carlito is probably currently holding off Silva who's best placed to move up a gear and surge past Fab Vinny.

But who knows?
Maybe by the end of the season SuperMario might do a Usain Bolt?

Tevez for me. Without him, we would be struggling, IMHO, to be top 6. He is THAT important to us.

Do you think any of our players will be in the running for POTY in the premier league?

If so, who?

Tevez will be in the running, not sure anyone else will be, Vinny maybe.

No Silva or Vinny?

That doesn't make much sense.

Oh cheers mate, I just found it strange that our most likely nominee for POTY in the entire league isn't recognised as our best player by a lot of folk.

That said, its not done on position - from what I can remember, Rooney, Drogba and Tevez were the final 3 shortlisted for last year?

Silva is a fantastic player and will only get better, but to be fair he has really only started to perform in the 2nd half of the season

I agree mate, but most on here have Vinny and Silva ahead of Tevez, which is fine - that's their opinion. But most of these folk would probably have Tevez as most likely to be nominated for the big one.

I don't know, maybe, as someone said, the transfer request has clouded people's judgement on actual performances over the entire season.

Anyway, it is a great complaint to have so many brilliant players.

It's not going to stop people from comparing by position, Nasri has had a great year and Vidic is a bit of a perennial favourite and when you start talking Silva and Kompany people are going to immediately question whether they've had a better year than those mentioned. In Tevez's position there are few players who fulfill his role, maybe only VDV in the top teams and Tevez clears that bar in street shoes.
