i really don't think so mate. tottenham have got the spirit and the talent to go there and have a go. they would throw caution to the wind, even if barca did beat them (which i must admit they prob would) i think it would be one of the best games of the season hands down.

Spurs are technically similar to Arsenal - they just wouldn't get the ball in my opinion. No team does get the ball from them - even Inter last year resorted to counter attacking against them. I really doubt Spurs would be able to impose themselves on Barca, and Dawson etc would be run ragged by Pedro, Villa's movement etc.

Happy to be proven wrong though :)

out of all the teams left in the competition, spurs are the only ones who COULD ruffle their feathers, barca's name is on the trophy right now, i don't fancy united or chelsea with the way they've been playing, and real madrid don't have the togetherness a team needs to go and take on barca.

We will remember Redknapp's catenaccio for a lot of years! Five excellent saves from Gomes saved spuds from Champions League exit. All in all AC Milan losed very badly at 1st leg for a colossal mistake. As a Rossoneri fan I think we deserve to forget European dreams. We're a good squad, not an excellent one!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

A nice long trip to Shakhtar Donetsk in the next round would be good. Just four days before they play us in the league.

I think that Spurs would have a better chance of beating Barca than Arsenal as they would score a couple of goals. Whenever I watch Barca play in the Champions League they play such a high line and their right back and left back are often not far off the opposition 18 yard line.

Tottenham have the raw resources for a counter attack strategy that could punish Barca. By playing Crouch up front and having both speed machines Bale and Lennon sitting wide and higher up the pitch they could launch long balls which would result in 3 against 3 situations. Would be fun to watch.

We should all hope that neither Spurs or Chelsea make it to the final to be honest.
If one of them wins it we will most likely have to finish 3rd which I doubt we will.

I agree with your tactical assesment of how Spurs could possibly trouble Barca. Unfortunately for them, I think they'd need to do it successfully about 17 times in order to win the tie, as they would have to not get utterly battered beyond belief by Barca at the other end, & I recon I'd have more chance of shagging Princess Anne .
