Mancini and his tactics.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Mancini and his tactics.

Postby carl_feedthegoat » Thu Mar 10, 2011 10:00 pm

BOTH WANK.

What a shit match from us....no shape up front...players playing like shit...I dont understand how he can have us going backwards.

Spurs would piss all over us...in fact...I cannot see us getting 4th unless we change our attitude.

I didn't understand nothing. We played with Zaba/Micah right midfielders???? When we have SWP on the bench? Then Swp enters the team replacing Kolarov, who played left midfielder, but then i saw SWP only on the right part. So i ask, what the hell was that? Who was playing what?

There is only one word : chaos.

The job is too big for him, and he seems incapable of building a team. After we beat Sunderland 4-3 last season (seems like years ago...) it looked like all we needed was someone who could tighten the defence up a bit. What Mancini has done, instead, is destroy a once thrilling team and replace it with one that can only beat the dregs of the Premier League and lower league sides. The sooner he goes the better.

Never had faith in him. I'll support him as long as he's here, but he's done absolutely nothing in his time to suggest we're moving forward as a club.

It had nothing to do with Mancini or his tactics, his hands were tied with what he could do tonight.

It was 11 (Vinnie and Lescott excluded) gutless players tonight, truely shocking performance by some so called big players, they owe us on Sunday, they really fucking do.

Not looking good for him after that toothless shite. What was the point of playing a full team only to go down to 2 sucker punches coz that´s what we were tonight SUCKERS. Kiev were gash yet we pussied about with no-one taking responsibility. Would have been better to go down with a 2nd string - Tevez looked utterly pissed off and Reading must be thinking we´re there for the taking. Lose Sun and that´s it - he has to go with immediate effect. Sick to the back teeth of excuses. If that pitch was a skating rink (and it looked it) we should have refused to play on it. How UEFA can sanction apalling surfaces like that with no insistence on undersoil heating proves moral bankrupcy of such an organisation. Fuclin laughing stock once more NOT because we lost but to lose with almost our best 11 without so much as a whimper
He´d better get it right Sunday or there´ll be shit hitting the fan major league

We need to get Charlie Sheen in for motivational pre-match speeches - they were lacking Tiger-Blood tonight.

Allright bright spark, what excatly could he have done differently tonight? His hands were fucking tied, do you think he wanted to play Zabaleta in midfield? Do you think he wanted to play Yaya Toure for the 9th game in a row? He had no Johnson, no Milner, an unfit de Jong, an unfit SWP, what more could he have fucking done?

That tonight was down to the players and the players only. The likes of Carlos Tevez, fucking world superstar coming on and playing like a pub footballer, he's more disinstrested than any other fucker.

my only critisisms of the gaffer...

The 12 minutes delay to get mario off. Total waste of time and the team were clueless wondering what's going on.

Allowing Barry to make no positive angles when anyone in a City shirt was looking for a pass.

Allowing ya ya to play slow and defensive rather than carrying the ball.

Not all his fault tonight , some of the players were shite.

Mancini has bought a few muppets, no-one can seriously disagree with it. That our season has the air of unravelling is nothing to do with Mancini? It has. Of course it has. The odd thing for me is, I can see City getting back into this tie. In Kompany, De Jong and Tevez (who looked out of touch again), we have real quality. We have enough to do Kiev. We must beat Reading or things are gonna get messy Sunday night and Monday morning.

why, after boring us senseless all season, including away at the might of Aris, did he decide to go gung ho tonight against a decent team?

And since we were attacking so much we couldn't defend, how come we didn't manage a decent shot?

Pathetic. He's as clueless as the last clown and now we have even more mediocre players on huge salaries.

It's hard to make a case for him tonight.

The whole thing seemed as if nobody was in charge & the body language of the players is starting to look as if they don't believe in what's he's doing. I'm completely flummoxed as to what he was trying to achieve tonight. He's been going on and on about us being tired but the way he set the team out was asking players to keep running up & down the pitch more than they would normally. Micah was made to run himself into the ground yet we're playing away from home in Europe. It could have cost us more goals.

I don't know about you lot but I was expecting a bus parking exercise tonight where we calmly shut them out & sort it in the home leg, perhaps nick a goal from a corner or something.

For all the criticism of Yaya, there was no doubt that he IS fucking shattered. He was trying to take part in the game but was dead on his feet & it was obvious. He was straining to stay involved & looked like an injury waiting to happen. So WHY was he still on the pitch at the final whistle? I can't find an answer to that other than; Bob didn't notice. That worrys me more than I can say.

The other one that worries me is starting with 10 men & nobody seemed to know why. It's amatuer at best & I find it embarrassing. Other managers & coaches all round the country will be laughing at that.

I hope to Christ he's not going to lose the plot at this stage as we need a strong leader to sort this out. We can still salvage this if everyone keeps their heads.

I don't think he merely allowed Yaya to play slow and defensive, he could be heard on the TV coverage screaming at Yaya to stay deep when attacks were developing. However, if this was the role that Yaya was given prior to the match he should have tried to stick to it, rather than drifting in the opposite direction to most of the play as he did (the suggestions of tiredness and possible injury would excuse him somewhat for this).

Mancini has to take some of the blame for setting up in such a way that Yaya and Silva were both restricted in doing what they have done best this season, but some of the other players as stated already were way below par and did not show the desire to change the game.

50/50 imo. Mancini orders Lescott up the pitch for the last 10 mins, and we cross 1 ball into the box. Plenty of chances to swing some balls in, Richards was in the box for plenty of time too but we pussied about with it. Its the players that are to blame for not pumping some balls into the box.

Mancini at fault for giving us pretty much no midfield and playing Silva too far fwd. He needs to be able to roam the midfield, go and get the ball, and fit it midfield with the attack.

Yaya is a fucking waste of space, Kolarov is not a full back or a winger, Balo is too much of a ghost, and I still think his body was rejecting the cold and he wimped out.

Maybe its injuries, maybe we let too many players leave, but we have far too many square pegs in round holes. Mancini is to blame for that for not keeping a balanced squad, regardless of injuries.

The squad was probably better before the end of last season. I don't see what Boateng, Kolarov and Dzeko have brought. Anyone?

Silva is excellent. So was Bellamy. Adebayor for Balotelli? Who wouldn't?

If the team is apparently so poor, why not go out there and park the bus, like he'd done so many other times? We could have scraped a 0-0 and everything would look promising for the return. Instead, he turns into kevin fucking keegan
