I would be there if we didn't kick off at 6pm. By the time I'd get to the stadium, the game would be over.

I think a few of us are becoming snobs, basically seeing the Europa has a 2nd class cup. I'd also suggest that if/when we get into the CL certain people will not go in the early rounds because we may not be playing the very best teams, as if they're beneath us.

Personally, I find the European nights to be some of the more laid back and somehow more relaxed evenings where people tend to turn the evening into a fun event rather than the edgy Prem games where we need to fight for that illusive CL spot.

As I've said, I'll be there and don't really give a monkey's who's sat there with me. You only live once you know.

This is from a Liverpool fan who is a general footy fan - and his view is directly relevant to our attendance tonight. In particular the combination of not yet having many glory hunters who will take up the slack, and playing dreadful football. Whenever my mate can't come he comes along on the Season Ticket as he just loves football. However in recent weeks he has turned down the chance to go because of Mancini's football.

If "neutrals" like this are turning their back on us, even if we win something it is clear that Mancini's style will cause even gloryhunters to stay away.

He also makes the point about Anfield being full for their 6pm kick off, which I have to admit I was surprised at (unemployed scouser jokes not needed). That stunned me, and puts our pathetic attendances firmly in the spotlight

Not a seat left at anfield at 6pm mate, u wont fill ur ground until u win 1st cup then the bandwagon fans jump aboard plus u av such a defensive manager .y pay to watch that

Overall, I don't get the no-shows, there's an earlier post re that Plymouth game, I was there and was there the previous day when the game was abandoned when the coaches got to Exeter. From memory, we then went to Ipswich & Bournemouth as our next games both of which were away & we went to those as well. I've waited for the good times, I've paid my dues and am happy that I'll be there with my Lad again tonight.

Doesn't matter to me whether people chose to stay away tonight for whatever reason however to echo an earlier post, don't be bleating when the tickets for the 'bigger' games are allocated

There seems to be a brand new breed of fan these days, who act more like customers than supporters. Turn up for the big games to see what City will give them...Cummon City, entertain me and give me my moneysworth.

I always belived that it was the duty of the supporter to get behind the team and drive them on to greater efforts and success. Cheer the team through the bad times and lift them to perform.

Mancini football > 2.0 down > Shit atmosphere

Just 3 clear reasons why this game will have a low attendance. I am an eternal pessimist but think that at 2.0 down there is the chance of seeing something quite special tonight, which is why it will be my first Europa game.

As for the rest of the Europa and FA cup games, i'll admit that before Sunday I couldn't be arsed for at least 2 of the above reasons, and you can throw in wank opposition. I suppose I have got into the habit of not going when I dont have to under Mancini because he bores me to fucking death. It was the same under Keegan/Pearce, although I went the whole hog and gave up my season ticket until Sven arrived.

Supporting your club is not an unconditional thing - as many clubs have found out to their cost in recent years, including the rags. Aside from the economic issues, if the manager continually sends his team out to play like cunts and without a smile in their football, people will stop going - and season ticket holders will certainly vote with their feet when it comes to paying extra to watch dross, even if it is only £15.

Perverse logic I know, but at 2.0 down I expect to be entertained by us having a go tonight which is why I wouldnt miss it for the world. It has the potential to be Mancini's defining moment - the moment he either steps up to the plate, or the moment he signs his own death warrant and goes out with a whimper.

Its almost like the first time this season we will have HAD to get out of first gear, and the prospect of that happening truly excites me. Compare that to a group game against a Polish team I have never heard of, or a team of plumbers from the Faroe Islands that the players can't even be arsed turning up for, why the fuck should I bother?

I think the attitude with which City approach tonights game will have a very large bearing on whether Mancini is still in charge after the summer. If we go out trying, no complaints. If we go out playing his dour shite, he might as well pack his bags for me.

All you doom n gloom faced fuckers will be on here wankin their balls off if we turn it round tonight n saying Bobby Manc is an amazing manager, too many so called City fans are too quick to turn on their own there are so many fair weather fans who only wanna know if we're playing beautiful football every week and smashing teams out of sight, I agree a lot of the time it is very negative, but if at the start of the season you had been told come March we will be in an FA cup semi, 3rd in the premiership and in the last 16 of the Europa league everyone of you would have been walkin round with a hard on n i doubt anyone would have said yeah well i want attractive football as well, big progress this season n still missing pieces of the jigsaw to find but Bobby has adapted to suceed with the resources available...... Yet all you fuckers wanna crucify the man who could although unlikely bring us the treble, our season is usually over now, put things in perspective. Arsenal have won shit loads again this season playing beautiful football havent they. Just what do you people want, no matter what some of you would never be happy

22 quid is a bit steep if they wanted to fill the place, they would have been better at 15 quid and filling it aswell as the food and drink they sell they would make as much dosh!!!!

Its not black and white about our current standing in the competitions we are in is it?

Expectations develop over the course of the season - of course at the start of the season we would have been chuffed to say we play in a semi final. But in light of the opposition, it is hardly a stunning achievement especially given what hard work we have made of it. Same goes for the Europa League.

I would EXPECT to have been in the FA Cup Semi Final after being drawn with Leicester, Notts County, Villa and Reading, and I would EXPECT us to be where we are in the EL. I would also consider it a huge disappointment to be outside of the top 4, and who could have foreseen just how poor the fight for the title would be this year - looks like an opportunity missed in hindsight doesn't it. None of these things could have been predicted at the start of the season, so expectation on day 1, and expectations at xmas will always be wildly different as reality comes into play.

And as for missing pieces of the jigsaw, hows about some fucking passion from the team and manager - because that is the only piece of the jigsaw missing from me on matchday. Its not all about the fans - the club have a responsibility too.

We have no excuses with the squad we have assembled, so lets not start playing it out like Mancini is our fucking saviour for getting us where we are now. I don't expect us to win trophies, thats the man city way, but lets have a bit of perspective about Mancini's "achievements" and his involvement in driving fans away from cup games like this.

Who is this addressed to, is it people in general, or people who aren't going who have posted on this thread?

I have double checked, but the only people I have seen on this thread who aren't going are people who can't make it because of work. The ones who just can't be arsed, and obviously there are plenty, seem to be keeping quiet

Where does it say that he's not?

Whether he is or not, I agree with the sentiment. There is clearly no apetite for this competition amongst the city season ticket holders, so why not knock the tickets down to a fiver like they did against Hamburg?

I honestly believe that even if they gave Europa tickets away free with Season Tickets most people would stay at home until there is a decent opposition. It's a truly dire competition in the early stages, on a par with the Autoglass cup or the Anglo-Italian cup

Today will be one of the greatest comebacks in the history of Manchester City...

I honestly believe it will be one of those defining moments where I will be able to say "I Was There..."

Not only are we going to go through to the next round but this will be the kick up the arse that the Club needs to win the competition!!
