Perverse logic I know, but at 2.0 down I expect to be entertained by us having a go tonight which is why I wouldnt miss it for the world. It has the potential to be Mancini's defining moment - the moment he either steps up to the plate, or the moment he signs his own death warrant and goes out with a whimper.

It seems that some won't be there because we are 2-0 down and don't consider that attemppting to win a European trophy is woeth the bother.
There seems to be a brand new breed of fan these days, who act more like customers than supporters. Turn up for the big games to see what City will give them...Cummon City, entertain me and give me my moneysworth.
I always belived that it was the duty of the supporter to get behind the team and drive them on to greater efforts and success. Cheer the team through the bad times and lift them to perform.
I am with you John - it just blows me away that we can attract more for our home games in div 1 of 1998 than we can in an FA cup or Europa cup game in 2011 - we must be part of an old breed - just cannot understand it.
I thought the earlier comment about the fact that there will be lots of blues watching the game in the pub and spending more than the cost of going is an insight - people have changed - maybe it is the availability of media to provide live coverage - it is not just us many many clubs across Europe have half empty stadiums on a regular basis - I just thought / hoped we were better supported than that

To be honest, the traffic's never too bad heading into Manchester for evening kick offs, though heading the other way always looks horrendous. If we weren't already cramming 5 into a Corsa I'd offer you a lift !!

Personally, I find the European nights to be some of the more laid back and somehow more relaxed evenings where people tend to turn the evening into a fun event rather than the edgy Prem games where we need to fight for that illusive CL spot.
As I've said, I'll be there and don't really give a monkey's who's sat there with me. You only live once you know.
This is from a Liverpool fan who is a general footy fan - and his view is directly relevant to our attendance tonight. In particular the combination of not yet having many glory hunters who will take up the slack, and playing dreadful football. Whenever my mate can't come he comes along on the Season Ticket as he just loves football. However in recent weeks he has turned down the chance to go because of Mancini's football.
If "neutrals" like this are turning their back on us, even if we win something it is clear that Mancini's style will cause even gloryhunters to stay away.
He also makes the point about Anfield being full for their 6pm kick off, which I have to admit I was surprised at (unemployed scouser jokes not needed). That stunned me, and puts our pathetic attendances firmly in the spotlightNot a seat left at anfield at 6pm mate, u wont fill ur ground until u win 1st cup then the bandwagon fans jump aboard plus u av such a defensive manager .y pay to watch that
