Well this puts a spanner in the works for some, plenty of city card holders not on the cup scheme with a healthy points balance who were expecting to walk this one.

We also appreciate that there may be a significant difference in loyalty points between junior supporters (under the age of 16) and their parent(s) or guardian(s). A limited allocation of tickets will be made available to Junior Seasoncard holders for purchase with a ticket for an Adult Seasoncard holder. At the point where the adult qualifies, they can also purchase up to two junior tickets (one per Junior Seasoncard holder) regardless of their loyalty point status.

so a 5 year old junior with, say, 500 points, and potentially a handful of games behind them, can jump the queue over people with 6 and 7,000 points? not to mention jumping ahead of city/access card holders with thousands of points?

Completely agree with you mate, amazed that they are allowing this, a kid who has taken out a season ticket in family stand at a massive discount for the first season this year could get a ticket ahead of lads been going 10 years if they're parent has enough points points ? Certainly doesnt seem fair to me

The club will continue to work like this as they are the future income of the club. They know us fans who have already got hooked will still turn up next season whereas a kid who has only been going a season may lose interest if he can't go to the big games. Sad but true

What happens if you have been to every cup game at home but not in the cup direct scheme?

Maybe the 31,500 is after the club have taken the tickets for directors etc whereas the others are all the tickets they are getting?

Need to check my points. Had a season ticket since '96, including through the 3rd tier, so if I don't get a ticket. Grrrr...

Hopefully the sales will be better than the play off fiasco, when I queued for about 5 hours and the queue was even longer by the time I was leaving

My brothers in the same boat mate, he's been to all the FA Cup games but not in the cup scheme so he has to wait. The club should really take all this into consideration.

It does say that those who whent to the home FA cup games will get bonus points, so its possible these could help you out.

Not on the cup scheme either but been to all the games, so fingers crossed!

Aditionally, those tickets that 'Whit-Less' is getting may be from the pool for the club employees - so possibly one less out of our pot!

Should they?

It's not a flawless system but it is fair. Should those who've held a SC/T for years not have a chance of going to Wembley, even though they've seen the club though thick and thin?

I think they should, if they are going to reward people for going to every game in the cup direct scheme then they should reward people for going to every game who aren't in the cup direct scheme.

I think that you've got to look at your own personal circumstances and work out if you are actually deserving of a ticket. The only people I would think should get a bit of sympathy are those who have massive loyalty points but were unable to afford a SC this year, but still turned up for games on a PaYG basis. People who went to the cut-price home games aren't really deserving whereas those who decided to follow with the Cup Scheme, and are by that a SC holder, showed they were willing to go all the way no matter what.

Like I say, it's down to everyones personal circumstances and I know if I didn't fulfil the criteria, I wouldn't be complaining. That's why it's called a Loyalty system and regardless of what you say the system is rewarding them who have been loyal with regard to time served or to the individual cause.

Surely people knew we'd be getting to Wembley sooner than later?

One of the reasons for buyin a SC is exactly this scenario, although not required for a number of seasons.

Not being able to afford a SC but now some people want to spend £60 ticket, £50 - £100 transport then food and drink + £10 progam = about 75% of a cheap SC anyway.

If we are on the up and semis and finals will be common place in the future anyone with a decent set of loyalty points needs to buy a SC.

The overall strategy for allocating seems reasonable and I like to touch of allowing people to book together if over 3K points. Also think the approach for junior tickets is good although anyone adult missing out will be pissed off. We've got to get those young lads/lasses to Wembley much sooner than some of us !

Not booking online is a fuck up though. How many of us can spare half a day queuing at either the boxoffice or trying to get through on the phone.

Not booking online is obvious - it doesnt fucking work, so i'd say it saves us all a load of frustrations.

I think the club have done a good job with this, it seems to be a measured approach with one or two little concessions such as the kids and the friends above 3000 pts. I believe that children are the future.

The club are using the cup direct scheme as a massive carrot. Imagine if/when we actually reach a final and get even less tickets - would you risk not being in the direct scheme next year? I wouldn't even though I object to it in principle.

This will massively improve attendances next season at the cup games

Unfortunately, the cynic in me sees this as Compulsory Purchase of cup tickets by the back door, which makes the club little better than them thieving rag cunts.

Hopefully, this semi-final/final ticket problem will be something we have to face numerous times going forwards. I'm sure the club will look for feedback from this and look to improve next year.

However, if the ground is expanded, it's going to become a bigger problem. A rag mate has a season ticket, has had for years and is on the cup scheme for the FA cup - £49 for a ticket against Crawley and same for Arsenal, even though he couldn't make that game. However, he's not on the Carling Cup scheme, so has no chance of an FA Cup ticket. Seems unfair, but there are thousands who've spent more than him.

Thing I don't get about the loyalty points is how they work from years gone by. We've got two tickets, had them since 96, but only I've been to away games (although not since about 2000). We've both got exactly the same points, as if it's only recent games which count. Going to Chester in the FA Cup means nothing! Won't matter, as I can get my ticket on Tuesday, so should be ok, but it seems unfair on someone who's had a ticket from say the 70s and has been to every home cup game this season, but who will be overtaken by someone who joined the cup scheme this year.

If the cup scheme was going to be so important, maybe they should have said at the start of the season. Changing it now, is like the FA saying the cup winner gets the CL place, instead of 4th. Reasonable thing to do, but only if everyone knows the rules when the season begins.
