Oh there's a surprise - united score a late goal and go further clear in the title race :-( I'm still eagerly awaiting this demise that so many people talk about. Which season will it come? :-( :-(

If you're going to lose in the last minute, you might as well cave in right at the start. Utterly pointless being good for 89 minutes and losing.

Anyone know when City last scored a winner in the last minute of a match?

Still, anyone happy Spurs dropped two points at home?

Are you kidding me? The only match that was REALLY really important to us ended in a good result for us. I'm very happy about today's Prem results.
Wigan went to the bottom of the table as well, sweet!

Cheers, Sweeny. It could well have been that match under Sven. I don't think Hughes managed it, and Mancini doesn't go in for attacking at the end of games.

It's largely happened.

Today, as in many games, their performance was on par with an Aston Villa or Sunderland but the opposition are terrified of killing them off, they find themselves 3 v 2 on the edge of the rags' box & their legs turn to jelly. Meanwhile the rags expect the opposition to cave in & they usually do. I was particularly watching Muamba in this game, he worked hard & stopped attacks but as soon as he got the ball, you could see the shit rolling down his leg, he'd just kick the ball in whatever direction he was facing even if nobody was within 20 yards of him. That fear factor & rag myth is being perpetuated even on here by City fans, excpecting to lose the Semi v a very average Utd team, when we've beaten much better sides in the past with very average City teams.

Until that bullshit finally wears off, they'll always be hard to beat.

I was just looking at the table, and was thinking how many points the teams at the bottom have. Looks like well over 40 will be needed to guarantee staying up this season.

The main thing that's happened in the Prem is that the teams in the bottom half have got much better, wheras the teams in the top half have got considerably worse, bar City & Spurs, who have improved slightly.

'Tis true. Have we actually improved statistically - i.e. points per game?

By 2 points over 38 games.

Last season 67, this season we're on course for 69.

I do agree with you but don't see it as that black and white or as top and bottom half.

Chelsea, Villa, Everton, Liverpool, Blackburn and even United are miles shitter now than they were in 2007/08/09. All were top half teams then.

Over the same period of time City and Spurs as you say have improved quite a bit. BUT so have Bolton, Newcastle, Sunderland, Stoke (despite the current league dip) and arguably Fulham. They were all bottom half teams back then. Arsenal have improved too though in my opinion, certainly since last season.

A third factor is that the promoted teams have been better prepared.

A fourth is that no one team is falling away in 20th like Derby, Sunderland (twice) and Watford did.

Basically, all these things have shaken the division up and it's a miles better league for it.

Your basic point that the bottom has got stronger and the top weaker is true though, as will be show in narrowest ever gap in points between 1st and 20th, 4th and 18th.

Cracking stuff.
