The "Balanced" Thread

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Fesan, I read it and will try to give more than a smart-arsed response. (Apart from the one comment that, as a City fan, you should really know how to spell LOSE....we fucking do it often enough!)

Firstly I don't think you are far off the barometer of most fans there. You certainly had me nodding along at this: "After tonights game I thought to myself that I cannot find one reason to watch the game anymore except the fact that City is my team. Like many others have said I am filled more by worry and fear than exitement and joy when we play, does not matter if it is Chelsea away or Wigan at home I feel like we are gonna lose it each time because that is the way we are set up... to MAYBE win it with some luck."

I want Mancini to get it right much more than I want him sacked. To be honest though it has to be said that not wanting him sacked is more to do with wanting to avoid another year of treading water and fucking re-building than having any great belief in his approach or ability.

He was sold to us as some kind of tactical genius by many on here prior to him becoming manager. Even Carlo Ancelotti was saying in the paper yesterday that Mancini is very clever tactically.

Honestly, I cannot see it and I cannot be alone:

What has he got right?
- Playing Joe Hart as number one and getting him fully settled, smart move and one that has worked
- Good form and performances from Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott again
- Buying David Silva

What has he got wrong?
- The system with no width whatsoever when you have not just one but two aerially adept centre forwards
- Getting rid of (and not using prior to that) Bellamy and Adebayor
- Playing Adam Johnson on the bench, not at all or on the wrong side
- Refusing to play James Milner centrally in the face of incontrovertible evidence that he is not a winger, cannot deliver quality balls from wide, that Barry has no pace at all and Milner can play his position, that Yaya is blowing out of his fucking arse and needs a rest.
- Cautious fucking shite tactics against every single decent side we come up against. I know he's not versed in Typical City but fuck me does he not have enough evidence that we are not very good at grinding out 0-0 or holding onto a 1-0 lead yet.
- Aleksander Kolarov.....I see nothing whatsoever in the lad. He is Lee Bradbury-esque at present.

Where has he been fortunate
- Carlos Tevez, Vincent Kompany and Nigel de Jong whose form has propped us up IMO

If we could sign Mourinho with any type of certainty that he'd take over as he did from Ranieri and just drive us forward then I'd be happy to say Ciao to Roberto. But I can just see too many changes needed if he came as certain (expensive) players are not his types of player. I can see him falling out with someone like Tevez too....something unexpected that would fuck us up.

In relation to the rest...I have only one comment. Owen Coyle?? Give over

Some of you make me sick, yes we lost. The aim of the season was to finish 4th. How many players have been missing at times? We were 15 minutes from saying that was a good away point gained.

Finally, how many clubs would love to be in our position? Plymouth argyle for one, who we played regularly 20 years or so ago. So the football might not be what you want... But just deal with it.

Dont be such a fucking prick

You can sit there and fucking happy clap whilst we yet again turn out a load of fucking shite for the umpteenth time this season, and you can say, "You should support them because they are City".

Well you know what, I fucking do support them, I just got back from there today, I was there last Sunday and I was there on Thursday, and that fucking cunt Mancini is taking the fucking piss out of me, and the people who take the time and expense to watch our club.

Bury, Rochdale, Macclesfield would love to be in our position, but they fucking arent because they dont have one of the best squads in the world. City of old would have loved to be in our position, but what the fuck are you thinking when you seem to suggest that we should accept this cunts fucking ridiculous tactics, just because we have been fortunate enough to be taken over. Fucking bollocks - its nothing to do with the money we have spent, it is everything to do with the quality of our squad. We have arguably the 3rd best squad for attacking football in the world, yet we play today and dont get a single shot.

You keep fucking sucking his dick, but I have had a fucking tit-ful week in week out.

Dont you fucking dare patronise me by telling me we were 15 minutes from a draw. We lost the game. 15 minutes from drawing is therefore completely irrelevant

GO NOW

It really isn't that bad. We are still in a good position and have the resources to take advantage of it. I think we'll see a completely different team after this break. So quit acting like a 5 yr old girl and crying when every little thing doesn't go our way.

And yet we're not happy.

We lost away to Chelsea, who themselves spent £50m on Torres, £18m on Ramires, £21m on Luiz to add to a squad that's been consistently challenging for the prem and CL. We're still building, yes our form hasn't been great this last few weeks and it's easy to be stressed about it, but we've also been playing some good football.

Fuck all to do with the last few weeks and you know it

In what way will it be different after the break? Simply less tired?
Because we have seen often enough Mancini is not going change his mind set on defensive negative tactics.
To balance it, we're still in a better position than Spurs.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

This has absolutely nothing to do with "every little thing" not going our way. It has everything to do with us watching utter fucking shite week in week out for the last 15 months - yes, 15 fucking months we have put up with this shit, so hardly a knee jerk reaction is it.

Thank you for a good reply, and esp. for the grammar lesson! English is not my first language so always looking to learn:-)
Although I think loose is SPOT on when it comes to our team, definition:
Ball is not in the possession or control of any player

I agree with most of what you say, and I think you show us in a nice way that he has not managed to do a whole lot positive stuff. We all want so badly for him, or anyone else who came in after Hughes to succeed. And we want it so badly, we want peace and trophies... Which is why I think most people have let Mancini rumble on for so long and still back him.

I still think we could win the FA cup and qualify for fourth, but the turning point for me regarding him at the helm came when the thought struck me; what is the point of getting fourth if we are going to go out in the qualifying round or get smacked silly in the group stage?

When it comes to Milner he has played him centrally, I just think he has to play him wide as the other two options (Balo and AJ) have been injured or seen red. I'd rather have Milner wide and Jo on the bench than visa verca if you know what I mean;-)

Regarding Mourinho, yeah.. we'd prob see some surprise turn of event in the squad. I actually think Tevez would stay but Balo would be a goner for sure. Funny thing would be what will Ade do? He is liking it under Mourinho now and if he came to us in the summer would we keep him? And what would happen to our youth development. Cannot recall him throwing youths around at Chelsea...

P.S thinking back to the start of the season I recall myself thinking the following after the Tottenham game:

Finally a manager who dares to make difficult tactical choices when he knows they are the right ones (Hart in goal).

How different things turned out!
