Training Tuesday 29/3

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:37 pm

It's been a while but I went along to see who was around.16 players on show in the main training group with a small EDS group elsewhere.Let's see how many I can remember. Patrick,SWP,Jo,AJ,Kolo,Mario plus Ibrahim,Nimley,Guidetti,Wabara,Chantler,Kay and Veseli,Vidal,McGivern,MJ.

Overall it felt like an end of season session on what was a very warm afternoon.Plenty of warm up /stretching stuff before Mancini took a group away behind fences to do some specific work. When I watched this he was focussing on attacking from the half way line with 2 attackers (SWP and Mario then AJ and Jo) against one defender before hopefully getting a shot away.He spent some time to with advice to the defender on how to deal with it.The most notable thing for me was how loud he shouted at the attackers to get back to the half way line quickly after the attack ended.

Abdul Razak came out after half an hour to do some one to one work. That was just after Roman and Benali had come out for the same reason.I had been told Carlos was inside working but as I left he was actually outside working with a physio.

The next full session when all the internationals are back will be interesting.

Cheers Doug, great read as always. Sounds like he was shouting for Marios benefit to get back to the half way line. Had Jo there as well to shout at so he wouldnt feel singled out.

Nothing. The initial assessment wasn't good but then I think we heard ( he tweeted I think) he wasn't as bad as first feared but since then nothing has come out and I havent seen him training yet.

Thanks for this! Does Mario look like one of the best young players in the world in training or is it similar to what we see in games? Somehow I refuse to let myself believe that we've seen his full potential
