I've added 2 more images to http://www.facebook.com/album.php?fbid= ... aid=285215

These all appeared in yesterday's match programme.

Someone asked about a stand for children.... The Boys Stand in the corner between the Main Stand and the Galloway End was for Boys and was sometimes known as the Lads Stand as well.

According to some of the old fans I've interviewed in the past (I met and interviewed several 90+ year olds in the 1990s and early 2000s) the Boys Stand had iron railings in front of it to stop the lads from 'messing around' on the railway loop line! Also, a bolier once got stuck at half time on the line and this prevented the lads from watching most of the second half - lots of abuse aimed at the workers trying to move it.

I've gathered loads of stories from the Hyde Rd days over the years. Perhaps I should re-publish some in my next "Big Book Of City"?
Latest book "Manchester The City Years" - the full story of the Blues from the 1860s through to QPR 2012
