Agreed and it's a start but he was definitely not one of the better players. Did ok.

He seemed to drift out of the game, can't defend to save his life, and slows play down sometimes. But he had some impressive runs into the box, a few good shots (including a great free kick), and was working hard for the first 85 mins. Huge improvement over what we've seen earlier. Actually showed me a glimpse of why he is considered one of the best young players in the world.

Thought he played well today - deserved a goal. Would have been great for that free kick to go in at the end.

Would like to see him and Tevez given a run of games together to see if they can form a partnership.

this is probably a wind up thread but if its not I wish the fucktards that are defending Balo and forgiving all his transgressions up to this date would piss off to the swamp and plant yourself on a seat beside the Cabbages that call themselves football fans over there.
Balotelli is a total cunt ,a millionaire child in a mans body . He was average today but the last 20 seconds of the game summed up all he'll every be, a talented spoiled brat that disrupts a team and upsets his teammates . He goes on a glory run at the end wanting his goal ,Tevez screaming for the ball ,wide open ,balotelli decides he wants his goal ,doesnt pass, gets fouled but his shot isnt on so he falls so dramatically an oscar could have been awarded .Freekick -tells Tevez he's takin it ,then hits a screamer that keeper just saves ,Final whistle - walks off smiling like he's man of the match ,smacks Yaya on the back of the head with too much force that Yaya reacts and starts giving out to him for his glory hunting earlier in the game .
blokes a headcase ,does more harm than good to that team ,needs to be gone .

Ok so if I defend a City player I should buy a rag season ticket?

Makes sense to me.

not saying your doing this but some fans would defend a Peadophile if he was wearing a City shirt ,Balotelli is a Cancer,he single hand-idly cost us that european tie ,and therefor possibly the trophy ,he behaves like a spoiled child every game, even today every time he was involved in a tackle ,he was holding face then his arm then his face again ,its like he's wearing make-up something and he's afraid it gonna run ,I love City and that chap is an embarrassment to the club I love .Soon as he has one mediocre game where he managed not to get sent off or act like a total bollix, some of our fans wanna praise the guy,I expect more ,its a premiership football club not a kindergaarten .

Lets be honest..Balo was average at best today and I still cannot for the life of me see anything other than average in him.

But at least he managed to concentrate enough not to get in trouble..it s a good starting point but unless he turns in a performances that have us jumping off our seat Id still sell him in the summer.

Don't think Balo was as good as many on the pitch today, however that says more about those players than him. I thought he did a good job today, had good movement, but left Kolarov a bit exposed when he was switched to the left.

As for the chance at the end, we were 5-0 up for christsake, he hadn't scored yet and obviously wanted to get on the score sheet. Ironic that he didn't pass to Tevez, do you honestly think Tevez wouldn't have done the exact same thing if the situation was reversed?

Don't get me wrong, he is an absolute headcase at times, and his antics on and off the pitch have cost us at times, but to try and pick holes in a small moment at the end of a 5-0 win is a bit petty IMO.

Ok so now your saying when a player improves on what hes made a mistake on, us City fans are not allowed to praise him for it?

The guys young, as much as I think hes a fucking donkey I want the guy to settle in and prove to us fans what hes really made of because his talent in reality is fucking endless.

what he did today wasnt an improvement ,if you count not getting sent off an improvement .I always give players and managers time to develop ,I want nothing more than to see City do well ,but that Balo fella is a wrong-un and we'd be better served moving him out asap IMO,most people can see the lad has a childs brain ,only 20 years old but he's been a professional footballer for over six years ,youd think that would be long enough for him to grow up and kop on . I might be wrong bout him and his obvious talent will be all we'll be talking about in the future but I think youd be equally wrong trying to big him up so soon after he totally fucked us .

doubt he's been a professional footballer for 6 years at 20 - think that goes against child labour laws.

Main concern with balo today was the way Mancini insisted he took that free kick, to the point of calling kolarov away. That's not playing for the team, that's giving him special treatment

I can see what you are saying but he won both free kicks pretty much on his own and Kolarov has utterly wasted the first opportunity. We had the game wrapped up....why should he not have the right to take that second kick?

Showed great spirit and didn't complain even at some very poor decisions. Should have won a penalty but was robbed.

100% agree with this. I keep hearing people say he is potentially world class and going to be brilliant etc etc but I honestly have not seen anything that backs this up? Ok the stattos will come out with his scoring record but he scored maybe 3 good goals the others were tap ins. It nearly kicked off near me last week with people arguing about him. In my worthless opinion I think people believe the hype far to easily.

His free kick was ace. And his driving run from the left to inside the right of the 18 yard box is what we need more of him to do.

Honestly mate, I like you and your posting but the above makes you sound pretty clueless

Baggage and fuckcuntery aside (which I fully agree has cost us, is unwanted and is twattish)....he is a striker and his strike rate is fucking good for us.

YOU DO NOT GET BONUS POINTS FOR SPECTACULAR GOALS. Tap ins and 25 yard volleys count the same.

His job is to put it in the net. He does that well. He also (when managing to stay on the field like today) adds a lot lot more to our game. You don't like him the person and character, I understand but to say "he only scored maybe 3 good goals". I'd say you're missing the point

No mate I think explained badly. His goal scoring rate I can not fault and yes your right about they all count but I just don't getvthe hype about him being world class and potentially the bet player in the world. In fact , again in my opinion I thought that kid McGivern showed more potential to make it as a top player in half a game today than balotelli has all season. Maybe I'm just being blinkered because he fucks me off after initially falling for the hype. But again in typical city fashion we play shit hot today and we (me) come on moaning about city players !!!!!! But anyway , fuck it....I GOT MY WEMBLEY TICKET TODAY!!!!! AND FOUND A PROGRAM!!! RESULT!!!

It's unbelievable how Bobby Manc could have ignored the risk of signing a twat like Mario! And it's a shame how many pounds City have spent for him!

If City sells him in the summer they are making a big, big mistake. Balotelli is going to be a top class striker and if City sells him someone else will get the benefits of him maturing and becoming a top player, which will eventually happen.

I think your post is the one which is a wind up; if this is what you have to say about Balotelli's performance yesterday, you'0re never going to appreciate his talent, and there's no reason to keep talking about him, your mind is set about him and that's it. He was a bit greedy, so what? How many times has Tevez ignored a better placed teammate to take a shot himself, and then sends it wide or straight at the keeper? Every striker is a bit greedy, it's not a fault; at least, that's what many here say about Tevez, so you can't have it both ways, either it's a fault but then Tevez is faulty of it too, or it isn't because it's in the nature of strikers to be greedy (which I think is the right answer here).

Blue Since 76 wrote:Main concern with balo today was the way Mancini insisted he took that free kick, to the point of calling kolarov away. That's not playing for the team, that's giving him special treatment

Maybe but he regularly took free kicks and corners at Inter with Mancini when he was 17 and there were more known set pieces takers at the club, still no one ever complained; Mancini clearly knows how well he can hit them, and to be fair if it hadn't been for a great save by Mignolet he would have scored with that free kick.
